Default Free Bargnani!

I wonder if ever in the history of the NBA had a 1st overall pick been given so little chance to prove himself. Yet again 2day Andrea played only 11 mins, though got 8 points out of it. I thought he played pretty well the first half to warrent minutes in the 2nd half, but Mitchell decided to play Ab7 as a backup to Bosh?! dun get that.. u use a 1st overall pick to get a backup for your franchise? i dun think that is what BC had in mind.. why use Bosh as C and Garbojsa as PF when u have Andrea? hmm.. Sam needs to unleash his talents on the court man!! or else it would be a waste.. by all accounts Bargnani and Bosh go hard at it in practice and both play well.. so why not use them both on the court?

I agree he should get more pt, so should PJ&Humph they could have used their toughness and rebounding

PS. TJ can't play defense

The problem is, it seems like Garbajosa is more needed than Bargnani at this point because of his defence. When Garbo plays D, he doesn't foul half as much Bargs does, so that might be the reason. Bargnani will be seeing more time when he gets more used to the game. He was playing solid today though. Thing was, he wouldn't be able to guard Duncan

Also, playing PJ and Humphries more wouldn't get us no where. Playing all 11 of our players each game wouldnt make no sence. It doesn't matter how talented the team is, if you keep subbing guys in and out like that, theres no way the team could get in a rythem.

The Raptors staff are treating Bargnani in a too much protective way i gess. He was the nē1 in the draft and there´s a lot of pressure on his shoulders so they are giving more minutes to Garbajosa who is 28 years and much more experience. However i would like to see more minutes to Andrea too.

It does seem like Sam is trying to protect Bargs but I don't think that is a good strategy IMO. The guy has proven he is a competitor and wants to get better, so throw him into the fire and let him learn the game! He is not one of those soft rookies (aka Joey Graham) who is afraid of his own shadow everytime he steps on the floor, though that will happen soon if Bargs gets such little minutes. It is obvious the guy lost his confidence a bit by all his missed jumpshots.. though it is good he has High Ball IQ as he is trying to score in the paint since his jumper is not working. Even though its only been 3 games, Bargs has shown he can play OK in the paint so once he gets his jumper back, just imagine the firepower!! those 8 feet post up jumpers should be his bread and butter but is rimming now. Itd be all good soon.

Tucker and Humphries are there in case someone in the regular rotation gets injured. I do think Tucker should play ahead of Graham, but I like the 4 bench rotation of Garbs, Bargs, Calderon, and Jones.

Bargnani is free !! You guys dont realize that Raptors will need him late this season for the playoff run. He needs to sit back and learn little things about the big man position by watching. Why do we need him now ? cause he scores ? We need a decent big man who plays D and Rebounds and Sam is preaching that to him in practice and himself watching Bosh and Rasho. Calmdown!! Mitchel knows how to develop young bigs such as Garnett,Bosh and Villanueva soo dont ever doubt him, cause thats one thing he is really good at. You cant give big minutes like that to a rookie big man who has extreme pressure from here and Europe,Sam needs to relax him and not give him big responsibilities early on.

bargnani simply isn't ready for the bigtime minutes. how can he get more time on the floor when duncan is out there? the raptors had an opportunity to win the game up until the final 3-4 minutes... i'd much rather have rasho or bosh out there on duncan than andrea...

there's 82 games in the season... why fret over his playing time now?

some people just need something to complain about i suppose

Bargs is getting all the minutes he needs right now. We must remember that he is still a project.

Bargnani isn't ready yet. Remember when D.Nowitzki came into the league? He wasn't exactly an all-star. Bargnani needs to bulk up and work on his D. Offensively he's a wizard but you need to have solid D or at least learn how to play without fouling in order to get steady minutes in the lineup. Having said that, I still am not sold on the fact that it was a wise decision to keep Sam Mitchell as head coach, but I guess he will be judged by his results so it's yet to be seen.

bargs should be playing at least 20 minutes a game, but because Mitchell is fighting for his job he's gonna play the veterans and try and get as many wins as possible. I totally understand his position, but would like to see bargs play a little more. That being said I don't think it's gonna hurt him bargs is a young, super talented guy, who in a couple years will develop into a very good player.

getting as many wins as possible should be the only priority. he's not trying to win as many games as possible to save his job, it IS his job to get as many wins as possible.

true, I didn't mean it like that, but he's not willing to risk playing the rook more minutes because he's coaching from a point of weakness. I'm sure if he had a brand new 3 year deal bargs wouldn't be nailed to the bench

WTF??? Are you kidding me, with BC as the GM you must be kidding.

If BC knew the trade off was wins now for a better Bargnani later he would tell Sam to do it...............both Sam and BC understand exactly how to manage a young Big, look through history this is EXACTLY what they should be doing.

Aww man don't know what is up with Bargnani, but the 76ers game: 7 mins, 0 pts, 0 rbs, 0 blocks 0-3 FG. Man I've been rooting for this guy but even Kwame Brown didn't play this bad. Sigh..... 2 bad
