I know how good prime Moss was. If it's one game, a season or career, then I'd take Rice. If it's a single play, then I lean towards Moss.

Prime Moss was a freak of nature: 6'4", 4.4 speed, great leaper, impossible to defend. It's hard to argue that Moss isn't the most physically gifted WR of all-time. And he put up some big numbers with some decent, but not great QBs. He played with an old Randall Cunningham, and since Culpepper turned into garbage as soon as he stopped having Moss to throw to, it's safe to say moss might have made Cunningham look a lot better than he really was.
it is impossible to argue...the NFL has never seen anything like him...

put 3 dudes on the guy and it just doesn't matter...

he would have made the QBs in Oakland look like probowlers also if any of them had the ability to throw the ball farther than 20 yards...they just had extremely weak arms...and Moss needs the deep ball to thrive...

they brought in Russell too late...

I will go on record in saying that Moss will absolutely NOT average 10 TDs for another five years. In fact, I don't think he will still be in the league in five years.

Regardless, he will never be looked as great as Rice, even if he does break every record... Because he isn't as great, having watched both guys throughout their careers.

Anyone that says otherwise is just arguing for the sake of argument (-pt-'s favorite past time).

BS...

it is an arguement found across every NFL forum on the net, every year, and will continue for years to come...

I don't give a shit what anyone says, I watched both also, and Moss did things that made jaws drop...

there is NO F*CKIN way that the classic Moss vs. Rice debate is argueing just to argue...

go...****...your...self...in...the...ass...hole... with...a...football...signed...by...Randy...Moss.. .when...he...played...with...the...Raiders...

I also don't think he will play another 5 years just pointing out that it is very possible...

Rice played till he was 42...Moss could go to 38...

bet he will also have around 12-15 TDs this year as well...

Saying Moss > Rice is equal to saying Kobe > Jordan. I don't care if it is being debated by others across the internet. You could find even more people arguing that Kobe is the greatest player that ever touched a basketball. That doesn't mean it is a valid position.

red I respect you as a poster but you are WAY off here...

Moss is argueably the best WR to ever play the game...that is not argueing just to argue...it is just taking that "talent" side of it rather than the longevity...

it is NOTHING like comparing Kobe to Jordan...

what I am saying is more on the lines of Tomlinson in his prime being better than Emmitt Smith ever was...

"Moss in his prime is better than Rice ever was"

if you remember in that draft I brought up "prime vs. career" 100 times...because I knew that if we were going to vote on who has the better team, then we would have to determine if we are basing this off prime or career...

we never got that determined....people didn't care, they just wanted to f*ckin draft...

this would make the difference in Bo Jackson being taken in the top 50 or top 500...prime vs. career...

I took Bo, but I knew it was a confusing pick because of that...

Moss is without question top 2 career wise anyway...

career:

1. Rice
2. Moss
3. Owens

That Kobe = Moss & Jordan = Rice comparison is waaaay off.

First of all, Kobe could never be argued as being on the same level as Jordan when they were at thier best, whereas Moss can be argued as just as dominant as Rice was at his best. If that were the case with Kobe, and he was just as dominant as Jordan was in his prime... the argument would be a whole different story.

And why does "prime" years and how dominant a player you were ONLY matter is basketball for some reason? You hear it almost in every argument in basketball, who had the better prime and who was the better player....and that goes a long way in determining your place in history...but in football it doesn't really matter as much. It's interesting.

Moss was just as dominant a player as any wideout in history. His impact on the field was Shaq in 2000 type shit.

You draft team defense and team o-line. It makes the draft much faster.
