it's all about compensation.

use your legs more in free throw shooting. don't jump of course, but bend more and stand up quicker. you lose power in the arms, so you have to compensate with the legs.

my 3 point shot has a lot of arch and it works out well for me in game situations, however applying the same level of arch on freethrows make them harder.

ray allen doesn't even bend his knees and like other nba players, his freethrow has little arch. eliminating factors that could go wrong.

form should be about the same, don't deviate too much.
