back to gay, if Gay actually cared about winning ( which doesn't) I wouldn't trade Gay and a lottery pick for Durant, but since he doesn't I would. I am going to get the virtually the same production if I get Durant

Durant gets 7 boards a game compared to Gay's 6. Put Durant next to Marc and Z-bo it goes down to 6. Durant averages 2.8 apg, with all the low post iso we do, it would be around gay apg of 2.0.

Scoring Durant won't score more than 23 ppg even that's a stretch.

The only thing I gain is winning attitude(which is big), someone who can hit clutch fts, and 2-3 more ppg. That's it. Gay actually may be slightly a better defender also.

Nah simply because durant gets to the free throw line, Gay doesn't have the mentality yet, its coming hes gotten better at it this year. I think being on the Grizzlies is tough for him and for mayo as well, there starting 5 are all solid and all needs shots. Rudy Gay has sick potential depending on where he ends up next year everyone will see.

Kevin Durant is way way better than Rudy Gay. If you have to say Rudy Gay is as good as someone else, it shows lack of confidence.

Maybe they are equally talented, but talent means jack shit when it comes to producing on the court. KD is playing at a level that few have ever played at and he is actually being able to keep up with LeBron in terms of scoring which is incredibly impressive. If they switched teams neither team would be as good, but Gay would improve his numbers a bit because Memphis has a ton of firepower in the starting line up.

I know it's easy just to say "he needs to work on FTs" and then just let it be that. But ability to get to the line and make your shots there is huge, there's a reason it's one of the 4 factors of basketball. It's also one of the reasons why Durant is one of the 2 best scorers in basketball. Durant gets there 10 times a game compared to Gay's 5 times a game. Big difference since Gay still scores 2/3 of Durant number of points in per game.

So no Rudy Gay is not as good a scorer as Durant and he's got a long way to go.

But he is a good player though, no doubt about it. Durant is just better, while still being 2 years younger.

The reason the Thunder are a good ways better then Memphis is because Westbrook is >>> Mayo.

Because they are cheap, want to ditch Thabeets worthless contract, and think Conley is a bench player. They can ditch Mayo and get a real hybrid scoring guard who can run the point for 20-30 minutes a game.
