The first game is the entire series. If the Thunder are to have a chance they've got to get this one.

Even if the Thunder play perfect, they would only be able to extend the series to 5 games.

Wouldn't go that far not with the way L.A are playing. Lakers are simply not healthy and has got to be a worry.

I hope so. This first round is looking like it's going to be boring. I'd love to see a big upset.

DJ Mbenga is out. He went to get an emergency eye surgery. This is going to be tough.

Bynum is going to have to stay out of foul trouble.

Given it's the Lakers, this would be the biggest upset in playoff history topping Golden State Dallas

I agree but if Durant goes crazy and averages 35 for the series would it still be as huge of an upset or will it be the start of the Durant turning himself into a top top superstar? hope this series is a good one. Kobe Vs Durant should be a good battle in theory.

Ya it could be...it's a pretty cool series and is kind of like Jordan vs Bird's Celtics in 87. Here are the parallels actually, kinda weird

Jordan's team finishes #8 in the conference and ends up facing the #1 team in his conference, the defending champion Boston Celtics. Despite the fact the Celtics had the best record in the East, they had their share of injury concerns. Bird and McHale had both faced injury problems. As a result they had gone from a 60+ win team to a 50+ win team and had 8 fewer victories than the previous season.

The favorite in the West were the mighty LA Lakers led by Magic Johnson who had just finished up winning 60+ games and had the best record in the NBA. They were the favorites to win the championship despite the fact the defending champs were still alive and ready to defend their championship. The previous year the Lakers also won 60 games and had the best record in the West, but they were unexpectedly upset in the conference Finals by the young blooming center Hakeem Olajuwon.

Jordan, who had just won the scoring title that season in his 3rd year, was supposedly the next great player but many doubted whether or not he would ever be on the level of Bird/Magic. They considered him a great scorer, but they doubted whether he could get to the next level.

Durant's team finishes #8 in the conference and ends up facing the #1 team in his conference, the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers. Despite the fact the Lakers had the best record in the West, they had their share of injury concerns. Kobe and Bynum had both faced injury problems. As a result they had gone from a 60+ win team to a 50+ win team and had 8 fewer victories than the previous season.

The favorite in the East were the mighty Cleveland Cavaliers led by LeBron James who had just finished up winning 60+ games and had the best record in the NBA. They were the favorites to win the championship despite the fact the defending champs were still alive and ready to defend their championship. The previous year the Cavs also won 60 games and had the best record in the East, but they were unexpectedly upset in the conference Finals by the young blooming center Dwight Howard.

Durant, who had just won the scoring title that season in his 3rd year, was supposedly the next great player but many doubted whether or not he would ever be on the level of Kobe/LeBron. They considered him a great scorer, but that he doubted whether he could get to the next level..
