Is anybody really expecting Orton or Quinn to produce this year?

Does Denver have any receivers? They traded Brandon Marshall. Now all their receivers have to work twice as hard to get open.

How do you know that? Its easy to look good when you're opposite Brandon Marshall. We'll see how good he is when the defense focuses on him.

So Boldin isn't good because he was opposite of Fitzgerald, vice versa?

Not true.

Wait, what?

Boldin played well BEFORE Fitz was drafted. He was beating defenses up his rookie year by himself.

Fitz was destroying defenses even when Boldin was out.

I'm trying to tell you that all the attention defenses used to give Brandon Marshall will be directed at stopping Royal now since that he's their best receiver.

So, lemme get something straight: A big part of their draft decision, I'm sure, was they liked Tebow's leadership, character, and intangibles. Of course, none of that really means much if you are a backup/situational player.

NFL players will NOT tolerate a young, rookie backup coming in, and trying to lead. And he's going to have to keep his religious faith to himself. Guys just don't wanna hear that. Can he be just one of the guys, as opposed to a leader?

I just don't think his leadership qualities that make him so desirable are going to work with what his role is going to be. All you are going to be left with is a guy who will undoubtedly work hard and apply himself, but at the end of the day, be a backup.

That stuff won't make you a backup/situational player, that will get you on the field.

The Donkey's are going to bring Tebow in slow which is exactly what he needs.
Tebow is a hard worker and for real that can take you far in the NFL. His skills come up to par and the Donks can have a good future with him.

I guess time will tell.

I know character/work ethic are all important, but it seems to me that the Broncos used it at the MOST important qualification when they drafted him. Without knowing a whole hell of a lot about their team (admittedly), it seems like they could have gone in a different direction. Fill a need as opposed to going after a backup QB who is a "good guy." Does the drafting of Tebow address any major issues the Broncos had? I think that's what one should use their first round pick for.

But I guess you cant discredit the jersey sales in Denver that will result from this, plus how well this will play off the field and in the community. That's certainly part of it.

The consensus from the experts...NFL guys, not the KIpers etc...is that this draft became nothing but 2nd & 3rd round quality after about the 20th player selected.

So if that's the case, and you have guy who has a real NFL body; has displayed leadership ability at the highest level of collegiate football; has consistently overcome doubts about his potential (insiders projected him to move to LB or TE in college based on his lack of big time QB skills); is a strong character guy; can run, throw and doesn't shy away from contact; AND you have a pair of QB's that nobody sees as leading your franchise for the next 10 years, why not?

You can talk about areas of need all you want. But if you're at a point in the draft where you're looking at the 3rd best OL, DL, S, whatever, and there's a guy who has been the best college football player of the last few years and has all the qualities listed above, the pick makes perfect sense to me.

They can take time developing him with Quinn and Orton ahead of him. Maybe he won't start a game for a year or 2 but that's fine because he can develop as an NFL QB. You know he will work hard enough to improve himself and I think he can be a starting QB. I was shocked they went with Thomas and not Dez Bryant tho. Dez's character issues are way overblown.

IMO, the bottom line here is that I don't think you're gonna find anyone who's going to work harder than Tebow. You don't win 2 Heismans for nothing. I guarantee he's been working on everything everyone's been bytching about and he will continue to do so. Tebow's gonna be the first one in the locker room and the last one out every damn day of the week. That kid will do work here in a few years.

To me this is said about Tebow because you cant really brag, hype up any QB skill he has. Dude lacks so much as a passer that you need to develop and even change mechanics like how he holds a ball, throws a ball that people need to find something great to say about him. I mean he is one of the best players in college football history so come draft time you cant say crap about him as a QB? Hmmm oh yeah lets play up his work ethic as being the best in the draft. That'll give him some kudos. Lets also say his intangibles are the best in the biz. Yeah see we're giving him something now.

Not saying he doesnt work his tail off. He definately does. But to say out of all the prospects drafted its the best? No. Just no.

Tim Tebow is either going to have a lot of people revealing how his ass tastes or we're gonna be lined up to take over Mel Kiper and Todd Mcshay job. Should be interesting.
