Section VII--Fines

c. During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be suspended, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $35,000. The suspensions will commence prior to the start of their next game.

you really gonna compare that elson foul with horry's hip check?

lol. That's what's hilarious about this argument. You punish the Suns because of the degree of the foul that Horry put on Nash.

Because Horry was a dirty piece of s**t and completely hip checked Nash in to the scorer's table, that makes them getting off the bench suspend-able, but Duncan's not. It's epic hilarity.

Spurs are playing with no margin for error at home and Suns are still in the game. This series is so over...

Spur up 39-21 did a Phoenix and went to sleep...If they made their free throws at that point game could be over.

Suns should be very happy at half time.

it's what ensued. nash got right up in horry's face.

that's what makes it an altercation. elson kept on playing and got right back into the game. no stoppage of play. no emotional fervor.

they're two very different situations.

Holy shit, PHX from the past would not even dream of getting back from such a deficit in SA.

It is a different squad, it can defend and stop.

No, but they shouldn't have suspended Amare, the same way they shouldn't have suspended Ewing. During the Knicks/Nets a few years back the nets wiped out TT when he was on the Knicks (remember he complained his teammates didnt fight on his behalf, idiot..). Richard Jefferson walked on the court. He was not suspended. No one had a heart attack, because he wasnt in the fray so no one cared.

No one would have said a word if the suns didnt get suspended and it would have been fair. In no way is this SA's fault, but don't get me started on that one. The Spurs instigated an altercation, and the NBA rewarded them for it. It was asinine. Common sense should occasionally prevail.

see i get why the nba can't take chances. it's not about being able to get involved. it's about the nonverbal message you send to the guys in the altercation, the opposing team's bench, and perhaps most importantly the sometimes volatile fans when they see a bench start to even remotely clear.

Yea, I'm liking our chances in the 2nd half. We just need to make baskets.
