Don't take turner- he isn't a top 5 player in this class in the long run- hard to guess what wall, x henry, avery bradley or cousins motiejunas would look like with 3 years of college, but there's a reason why you'd never see it
----
If someone really wants to take turner at 2 then trade the pick but I don't think they will- your scouts have been great in the middle of the 1st they'll have to be great at the beginning and decide between two super high ceiling prospects- its either cousins or motiejunas
-----
Top 4 players in the 2010 draft
Wall
Motiejunas
Avery bradley

Thank you for your opinion. Time will prove you right or wrong. In the mean time, consensus is that the options at #2 are either Evan Turner or Demarcus Cousins. And that's what I'm sailing with. If either turns out to be a bust, or any other you listed turns out to be much better, I will remember you.

As for (Jrue or 2nd pick) + Brand, anyone would have to see what is offered in exchange first. You wouldn't expect to give up either before even knowing what the deal would be.

what el gringo is really asking is: if we had bosh staring at us on the table for brand plus the number 2 pick would we take it?

thats an interesting question indeed.

what el gringo is also asking is: who is better jrue holiday to a "franchise" or does turner/cousins/favors (whoever number two becomes) mean more value to hypothetical franchise in question?

i say its a tough call buddy ol' pal. jrue is proven to be a good young player number 2 pick may bust or boom.

what i must ask now is , if we had an opportunity to get a bosh or all star caliber s & t , does this strengthen our squad or would it become a step in the wrong direction.

That is pretty much what I meant- and I think you for sure should trade #2 for a player as good as a bosh- and the raptors are a really good team for the 76rs to try a trade with
----
What pick # in this years draft is jrue holiday worth
----
Bosh for brand + #2 + 2 future protected 1sts is what seems fair to me

Draft workouts scheduled:

Quote:
The Associated Press National Men’s Basketball Player of the Year Evan Turner of The Ohio State University, Derrick Favors of Georgia Tech, DeMarcus Cousins of Kentucky and Wesley Johnson of Syracuse have all confirmed with the Sixers that they will participate in pre-draft workouts at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM).

“We want to make sure we get an additional look at the players available to us with the second overall pick in the NBA Draft,” Sixers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski said. “These are all very talented prospects who can make an immediate impact at the next level and while exploring these options, we would have to be presented with a blockbuster offer to even consider trading this pick.”

On the 24th I'm going to Phillies/Indians, then heading over to the free draft party at the Wachovia center. Lou Williams, Thad, Moses Malone, and Dr. J ("and more" but that's all that's been announced) are all going to be there for pics/autographs/etc. plus the Sixers dancers and Hip Hop. Stefanski and Collins will come out and speak to everyone after the pick. Admission and parking is completely free. I'll try to post some pics.

If The 76ers fall in love with Cousins or Favors would that put Mo Speights on the block?

The Sixers are taking Turner, but regardless of who they take Speights is available. Maybe not being shopped but easily available.

Dang nuggets needed that deal bad- spencer hawes should have been denvers #1 trade target- dalembert is a great expirer though (atleast better than kenyon martin) because he is what so many teams think they are missing away from being a good team, that "defensive presence in the middle"
----
would the 76rs take a future 1st for jason smith from the nugs if offered?

They would take that trade easily but the Nugs would be dumb to offer it.

I was reading this thing about Doug Collins wanting to take a big with the #2 pick. He's talking about getting Demarcus Cousins or Derrick Favors.

If Doug Collins come in Philly and **** this up, its not going to be pretty.

Evan Turner is the smart and right choice at number 2.

Iggy donesn'tplay well at the 2. He plays better at the 3.

Turner and Holiday would make a good backcourt.
