LB requires more experience, as you have to know how to read an offense...cover and play the run...blitz, ect...

alot of running is just natural instinct...you just got to know which hole to hit...

some RBs are asked to more these days though...like line up in the slot...or even wide...

Ight, so which would you say require more athleticism? I think LB, but I don't know. LB seems like you have to have more knowledge though.

I agree with prime. One thing that RBs normally stuggle with early is learning how to block and pick up blitzes but a lot of it is just naturally running.

what about athleticism? Like could their be a faster LB than RB? RBs could be slow and quick though can't they?

it depends or your defenition or athleticism...

someone might have Peterson as the greatest athlete in the NFL, another might have Ware...(most have Peterson though I think, lol)

Living in Dallas though I have heard arguements for Ware being the greatest pure athlete in the NFL...he supposedly fan a 4.5 in college at like 250 lbs...which is freakish

Yeah LB requires the most experience. RB requires the athleticism.

Considering that the majority of RBs fall off once they hit 30 athleticism is by far the bigger requirement for that position.

How does it require more athleticism, explain if you will.... I think WRs and CBs probably require the most athleticism in all of football though.

It's hard to say because both require quite a bit. LBs have to shed blocks, pursue RBs and QBs and sometime cover receivers. I'd give athleticism to RBs because sometimes they have to stop on a dime and change directions quickly or just try to power through a hole or they might be asked to block a big defensive player out in open field while the defender is already running fast or run routes or evade multiple tacklers or break tackles or they might need to hurdle a would-be tackler. Then, you also have to take into account the endurance that is needed and the beatings they take add up. Also, there's the speed, agility, toughness, balance, body control, power, strength, coordination, explosiveness and such that is needed to play that position.

So you have to be one of the best athletes at your school in order to play running back in your team? Would you say like a 6-pack is required or just helpful, for high school football of course. Not sure how much body control is needed for RB, It's needed for WR that's for sure.

high school football uses the best athlete on the team at RB all most always...

or QB even...

with the same dude playing on defense sometimes...

if you are talking about high school football then I would say RB is the greater athlete 9 times out of 10...

Bron played WR/DB though...lol

Iverson was QB/DB...

Deion was QB/DB also...

but for the common school I think you would find the RB to have the most pure athleticism...that position is a MUST in high school...where in the pros, you can win with Brees and a bunch of good WRs...

I think WR is the best total athlete (like leaping and speed). Most versatile athlete is probably RB. RB is the more explosive position though.

Quickness belongs to RB while Speed belongs to WR. I don't know, aren't there some fat RBs, but they are all power though right?

you can find any type of RB anywhere...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcT2bNxq4c8&feature=fvst

^^^ Noel Devine in high school...

he was the #1 high school recruit in the country until he had off the feild issues...and he is only like 5'8" 150 lbs or something...

he was a BEAST...they said he was the high school version of Barry Sanders...every college wanted him...before he went "thug" on everyone...

I don't like a dude that small for the pros though...you might end up with something decent like Warrick Dunn, but for the most part in the NFL I like "big and fast"...

I think the two most athletic players in the NFL right now are Peterson and Moss...

so yeah, WR and RB for athleticism...
