Re: Stoudemire Says Cavs Would Have Won It All With Him In Their Lineup
Eh, I'd still be skeptical with Mike Brown as the coach. I said it at the time, it would have beena ridiculous trade for Phoenix to make. Hickson for Amare?

Probably......He would actually do something against Garnett instead of pull a Mo Williams. Then against the Magic, he would dominate the hell out of Rashard Lewis, even with Dwight Howard in the paint or even with Dwight Howard guarding him. I don't know about the Lakers though. They would have definitely gotten into the Finals.

Big Z, Hickson, Fillers for Amare.
It didn't seem too bad at the time tbh. The suns were sucking and Hickson, if given the proper staff training he could become a good player.
Re: Stoudemire Says Cavs Would Have Won It All With Him In Their Lineup
As many good moves the Cavs have made over the past few years, there's two moves they messed up on:
1. They should've gotten Shaq last year when he was in the middle of his mini-resurgence as opposed to this year, making the assumption that he would've been able to keep up that level of play for another year.
2. The story goes that they pulled the trigger on the Jamison trade because they didn't want to wait on Phoenix's decision to trade Amare in fear that if Phoenix declines, the Jamison offer will be gone by then, leaving them with nothing. They should've taken the chance, waited it out, and possibly gotten Amare or get left with nothing.
I won't say the Cavs would've definitely won a championship or anything if they did 1 or both because thats underrating the Lakers, Magic, and Celtics, and Lebron's horrible play in this series may have resulted in a loss anyway. But I do think they would've been much better off, and probably would've at least made it to 1 Finals, and who knows, maybe they would've won 2 titles in a row.
I'm not excusing Lebron. I do think he had enough around him to win it all this year, and even arguably last year. BUT it is a team game, and significant changes like this would've definitely had an impact.

Yeah, but Amare's contract expires at the end of the season anyway so dumping salary doesn't do them much good. With Hickson in Amare's place, they almost surely miss the playoffs and are stuck rebuilding having just signed Nash to a contract extension. Hickson may be a solid starter one day, but I have yet to see him produce enough to think he'll be anything more than an average starting power forward in the near future. He certainly doesn't have the potential to be an Amare-type player.

this. amare would give other point guards 3-4 easy assists a night.

Amare 15/3
Gasol 8/2
Haha what's that you said about the Amare/Gasol matchup Roundball?
