A John Wall and Gilbert Arenas Backcourt, I'm intrigued.
Why are we throwing Arenas under the bus. He has always been an ineffecient turnover prone volume shooter maybe a team cancer his whole career. Last time i checked last season he averaged 22/4/7 before his gun ordeal.
Now moving him to the two position and putting Wall at the 1 could cause a lot of matchup problems offensively. Arenas would have to start guarding the Kobe and Vince's of the world on defense, something he has wanted no part of.
We as basketball fans, were robbed in the 08' draft of seeing maybe one of the greatest backcourts with two 6'4 players in Dwyane Wade and OJ Mayo. Wall and Areanas are both 6'4 this could be the poor man's version of what could have been.
I'm intrigued, I hope that Arenas doesn't get moved, and I don't think he will unless the Wizards are willingly to get little in moving Arenas.

It will be interesting. Arenas will probably have to take the 2 position. Or Wall will have to come off the bench. The Wizards could be a good team these next couple seasons if they build around Wall and Arenas correctly..
Re: A John Wall and Gilbert Arenas Backcourt, I'm intrigued.
Wall+Arenas backcourt= a lot of losses again for the Wizards.
Too short, too weak, and not enough defense.
Arenas has to go.
Maybe a team that is very close to competing for a title reaches and takes on his contract...
But Wall deserves to have this franchise as his own and with Arenas chucking in the backcourt with him I don't see it panning out like it could/should.

Frankly, I see it taking away from Wall's development altogether.

If Washington's GM knows anything about basketball and they can find a taker, Arenas is gone. They may even try to void his contract, which they should have done already if they have the legal right to.

Again the Wizards are going to have to get virtually nothing to get rid of Arenas. They have some talent on their squad, they could compete for an 8th seed in the east. You guys are concerned about Arenas have you seen Andre Blatche, that guy is more selfish than Arenas.
PG: John Wall
SG: Gilbert Arenas
SF: Josh Howard
PF: Andre Blatche
C: Javal McGee
that's a good enough squad to become an 8th seed and get swept by LeBron ( assuming he stays a cav) next season.
Re: A John Wall and Gilbert Arenas Backcourt, I'm intrigued.
It could be similar to the Hughes Arenas backcourt. Hughes had his best season with Arenas with both of them averaging 22+ ppg. Surprisingly, that team won 45 games.
