Hip hop is bigger than them. They haven't been significant on the scene since the mid 90's. Jay Z had to come back out of retirement so that NYC can get some run again. In the last 10 years hip hop has basically been 4 cities.

Atl
Houston
N.O.
Memphis

With each rotating the crown (except memphis)

Mtv and xxl all proclaim Houston as the hip-hop capital right now!
Paul wall, chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Slim Thug, and Lil flip have all gone platinum within the past year. bun B went gold . Atlanta only had T.I., Jezzy and Luda go platinum this year. In the south right now houston has it on lock.

Rap is **** because of the type of garbage atl puts out. Fück them.

BET is also garbage. Ran by white people and target idiots like johnybravo who will whoop and holler everytime Tigger says "isss ya boi". What other channel targets dolts like johnybravo who likes southern rap? Closest is CMT, because they use another type of southern music... but that channel is much better from the get go because it has married with children.

At least houston don't produce that laffy taffy ****. Houstons influence is so big right now that Atlantas best artist are using other artist samples an screwin an choppin them; using them as hooks(Thats the ultimate compliment).

Ex. Ludas new single, I grew up a screw up. Is from biggie, he took the line an put that good ole h-town spin on it.

I wouldn't argue that too much Houston has come up. However T.I. sold more than all of the Houston rappers combined. Then you have the snap folks, like it or not, who all have multi-platinum singles. Then you have Young Dro Yung Joc.

Then you have Gnarles Barkley

And Ciara, who is as much of a hip hop artist as she is an R&B singer ala Mary J.

To those who are questioning Jermaine Dupri.. virtually all of the hit songs of this year had this introduction "Y'all know what dis is...So So Def!"

Sad part about this is JohnnyBravo listens to Bruce Springstein and not Atlanta rap. What a poser. But hey if this is what you claim? Ok.
