And Ciara, who is as much of a hip hop artist as she is an R&B singer ala Mary J.

To those who are questioning Jermaine Dupri.. virtually all of the hit songs of this year had this introduction "Y'all know what dis is...So So Def!"

T.I only went double platinum. Anyway, Im not trying to count all of the artist in Atlanta versus Houston, just sayin Houston on the billboard charts an on the radio in the south has a bigger influence RIGHT NOW FOR THE PAST YEAR.

Sad part about this is JohnnyBravo listens to Bruce Springstein and not Atlanta rap. What a poser. But hey if this is what you claim? Ok.

Springstein? Dude I am a 32 year old Blackman who has been listening to hip hop since pretty much the beginning. The fact is this. The ATL has been setting the pace for hip hop for years now.

Dupri produce the first kids to go Platinum (Kriss Kross) and the first
Female to go platinum (Da Brat)

We had the first group to win a Grammy for not Rap Album of the Year...BUT ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

We put 3 dances into the lexicon

Bankhead Bounce
A-Town stomp
Snap...betta known as the Poole Palace

We can be commecial (Whoomp there it is-Tag Team)
We can be political (Arrested development)
We can be lyrical (Goodie Mob)
We can be beat oriented (D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz)

We have the best producers
Jermaine Dupri
Lil John
Jazzie Pha
Mr. Colli Park

We can merge hip hop into other genres
Usher
Monica
TLC
Ciara

We have superstars
T.I.
Luda
Jeezy
Outcast

We got non traditional acts

Field mob

Our dominance in the musical industry is unparallelled.

Johnny your so call dominance has only been maybe 3 years. You forget about The west coast, The new orleans scene between cash money an No limit together were of more lastin importance. Im not here to debate the atlanta history just whats current. If you talk history talk about NY please not Atlanta.

You missed my above post where I said that over the last 10 years hip hop has been dominated by the south and rotating between

Atlanta
Houston
New Orleans
and Memphis to some extent

Setting the pace?

Dupri can produce....just not hip hop artists that arent kids. Da Brat was an exception but she is from Chicago not Atlanta.

Outkast has been the best thing that has come from Atlanta.

Yes considering Atlanta steals dances from other southern states most notably Louisiana.

They arent relevant today and were 1 hit wonders. Last time you or anyone heard that song was NBA Jams TV show. Whenever highlights came on? That song played or WNBA commercials when it first popped off.

Not relevant today.

Not relevant today. Better off listing artists who are lyrical. Cee lo is.

We can be beat oriented (D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz)

The beats created for them are elementary. Grab a panasonic keyboard from back in the day and play around on it. There you have beats for those groups.

Lots have done it. Nice try. Atlanta is slow.

You didnt even buy thier albums. Why list them?

Nothing dominant about what you listed. Much like Atlanta not being a sports town. Its not dominating music either. Nice try tho. I applaud your effort.

I am sure that they won't be holding the BET awards in Philly. Maybe they can give Will Smith his lifetime achievment award for the ground breaking "Parents just don't understand". I do like the Roots though. You should stick to Soul...your town is damn good at it.

ahah kick push pass, I gotta give props on that one JB.

Ciara is POP music. Don't you guys understand that nowadays hip hop IS pop music? Sure there is still christina aguilera, shakira etc.. but haven't you noticed their songs are becoming for hip hoppy?

First of all, All rappers talk **** about things of Monitary Value. Whether it be about the cars, clothes, teeth, watches its all the same ****.

Second of all, If youve been to Houston or the South you know that shiny teeth are very much a part of the status as lets say Tattooes. I don't agree with it but its here.

Last you keep on snapin your fingers, I know your probably used to jerking your neck back too!
