Not bad.

I'll definetly take him on the Jays as a DH. They Jays could really use a left-handed hitter now though (if they don't re-sign Catalanotto or Lind is isn't good enough for full-time play yet).

Wonder if Vernon Wells will be traded still. I bet the Jays will listen to offers...

WOW... really surprised and unbelievably happy...

Reed Johson
Rios
Wells (gotta get him down for long-term)
Thomas
Overbay
Glaus
Zaun (assuming he re-signs)
Hill
SS/2B (whoever it turns out to be)

thats a sick line-up but lack of left handed batters...

Reed Johnson probably won't play full-time... at least I really hope he doesn't since he's not good enough. Adam Lind (who is a lefty) will be in there somehow, probably a platoon with Reed.

The Jays really need to re-sign Zaun now.

Damn, thats a dangerous three. Thomas, Glaus, and Wells. There goes JP makin me all excited for baseball again, we still need a ctacher and a few more pitchers though. Offense is the least of our problems.

i got overly excited last season because of all the moves JP made... i'm going to wait until we have a 10 game lead in the AL East before i start getting excited about the jays again.
the sport is just so damn boring!

i thought near the end of our season... a couple of months... offense was our biggest problem... so this makes it so much better and Lind is a horrible outfielder... we do need pitching, i think re-signing Lilly and moving from there is the best option and also re-signing Speier... omg i'm soooooo excited already and the season just ended... and off-season just started...

Eh, the Jays still had a good year though and finished in 2nd place. That's more than most people were expecting.

The starting pitching REALLY needs to be fixed for next year though since Ted Lilly is going to leave. He may not be a star but he's a damn fine middle of the rotation guy. All the Jays have going into next year is Halladay and Burnett + garbage young pitchers or young pitchers who will be living off their "potential" for many years to come.

ooooo

something interesting...

Boston's back-up catcher for next season (potentially) could be George Kottaras...

His brother is in my school and we play on our school baseball team... just something interesting... I now can say I know brothers of two professional guys in two different professional sports... Kottaras and JYD's brother...

Sources at the annual GM meetings told SI.com's Jon Heyman that the sides are hammering out what is believed to be a two-year, $23 million contract.

Well there goes my happiness over this IF this is 2yr/23mil. If you can be guaranteed a healthy Thomas for 2 years then it's clearly worth it but you simply can't have that.

JP Ricciardi's philosophy lately has been "buy high, sell low" so this fits right in... oh well. Just pray he'll be healthy for that kind of money.
