Default David Lee replacing Stoudemire in Phoenix?

We've talked to them for a quite awhile," Lee's agent told the paper. "There are so many things going on with David that it's hard to tell what will happen

Lee in PHX would be pretty good, but it makes me wonder about why they would let Amare go in the first place. If they had the money to sign Lee, why would you let Amare go? Additionally, why would you sign Warrick and Frye to their respective contracts? I thought money was the issue in all of this.

Worried about his knees in years 4 and 5 so they said they will pay by the minutes played which caused amare to say no and went to new york to get his max for 5 years. I can't blame sarver on this one if the Phx medical staff is worried then that is all that needs to be said those guys are the best in the league by far. Also if boozer signed for 5 years 75 suns can sign david lee for like 5 years 60-70 which is pretty decent imo.

Actually, they don't. Since they haven't actually signed anyone yet, it doesn't matter when the announced the deals, it's just matters when the deals go through as of tomorrow. In this case, sing and trade for Lee first, then move from there with Frye and Warrick (using a portion of the trade exception they'd receive in the sign and trade).

Cool, good for David. he deserves it. i look foward to the 2,000 delusional threads saying he is just as good as amare. he is not. but he plays damn hard.

we are signing amare outright. How does that work with Lee?

Well, I think that was the initial report, but Stoudemire can get more money (for longer) by doing the sign and trade, and if it's not for Lee, it'll be fore a big ass trade exception. Either way, I think the sign and trade happens whether it be for Lee or just the trade exception.

It also looks like there's a possibility that Lee ends up in Golden State for someone (Ellis, I guess).

So if there was a sign and trade it would have to be set up before amare signs with new york and then we wouldn't hear about it until he signs or what?
