It's easy to label today's events as a black and white situation so that we can choose a side and argue with one another, but to me it's not as clear as that because both opposing views have legitimate claims.
View from one side: Did LeBron owe it to the Cavs to stay and possibly miss out on winning championships? NO
View from opposing side: Did the way LeBron handle this free agency show to be a little douchey? YES
Neutral: Was he going to be criticized no matter where he chose to play? Probably
I love the venom coming from Gilbert.. but c'mon.. did he really have to include:
"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"[
You can take it to the bank.
Who is he kidding? He knows his team is lottery bound for the next 10 years.. Couldn't win with Lebron and he thinks he will win one without him.. haha gotta love his blind optimism.. though I'm sure he doesn't actually believe that
Yeah you're right. It's not like the Cavs organization did everything they could to give him a championship caliber team ...
It's interesting to see all these posts on how Cleveland was supposedly this horrible team. They compete for a championship every year, but only one team gets to snag it. I do not see how a team that won 61 and 66 games in their previous two seasons can be thought of as so horrible. Were they good enough to win a championship? Apparently not. But I don't see how winning 60+ can be treated as if LeBron was playing with last years' Nets.
