The declarations of the team's coach Sam Vincent was that he is leaving to take an MRI because everybody got scared, the Pacers, Jamaica's Team and Hibbert himself.
He has a sore knee but we don't think is a big deal. Its more a precaution because of his future in the NBA.
Had a long conversation today with a writer who was covering the game in the Dominican Republic when Pacers center Roy Hibbert injured his knee.
Jordan Olivo, who writes for baseketdominicano.com told me that no one at the game thought the fall was serious. Olivo also said he talked to Hibbert yesterday and that Hibbert told him the MRI was just a precaution.
Also, the Pacers said this afternoon in a statement that they think the injury is minor.
Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, who injured his right knee while training with the Jamaican National Basketball Team in the Dominican Republic last week, has been examined by Pacers’ medical officials. The injury is a mild strain of his right patellar tendon and no surgery is required. Hibbert will renew summer workouts immediately.
Of course since the Pacers training staff cleared a knee injury it means it was misdiagnosed and he has multiple ligament tears.
