This is a good time to be a basketball fan. Many players have their legacies on the line here.
1) The Heat
You have to win, period. While the Heat get flack when they lose, they are still expected to win by many people. So LeBron and company have to live up to the hype.
Some people are saying Durant is now a better scorer than Wilt Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan. If you are better than all those guys, get the MVP and have a great team surrounding you, what's the excuse to not win a ring? Exactly. Win a ring or go home. No excuses.
3) The Spurs
Once again the Spurs prove they have the best system in the NBA. They can rest starters and still blow out opposing teams. Popovich is still an incredible coach and they rule the West. So close last year to winning a ring. This might finally be the last year for this group to win a ring (it keeps being said each year but it is getting harder). One last ring for Timmy or not?
4) Indiana Pacers
They built their team with the sole purpose of abusing and dominating the Miami Heat. Early in the season Paul George was looking like a top 5 player and MVP candidate. Despite the recent implosion of the team, losing to the Heat in the same fashion as last season would be a slap in the face. Overcome the Heat or go down in flames.
5) The Clippers
Blake has improved his game, Chris Paul still drops games with insane numbers, the team has added depth and played well despite injury problems. On paper this team is as talented as anybody assuming JJ Redick can return. A great PG, a blossoming PF, a players' type of coach, why not win now?
Best PG in the game, Blake who had MVP moments in the league (not saying he is the MVP but his level hit superstar status for a while), improved coaching, superior depth to many teams and the responsibility to go further in the playoffs this year than ever before (because there won't be any excuses not to).
are u smoking my neggah??
Heat are the clear cut underdogs.
CLippers and especially Spurs and OKC are WAY more stacked.
we all know that Hibber and West will drop 40-50 a game on the Heat like they always do too
