It's happened before. Splitter is a proven player already, and this year's draft was really shallow imo.

Rofl, I know right? If some dude who never even went to college balls worth a damn on some broken down court in a backwater town, they're gonna find the guy. It seems almost impossible to escape the Spurs' scouting team. :\

Not trying to flame you, but that is the most ignorant and brainwashed argument that can possibly be made against the Spurs. It's made far too much, and is completely wrong.
How is a team "showing their age" when they have only three players who are over 30??? Two of those three come off the bench.
Most of their players are 25 or under. They are not "old" at all.

I try to explain that to ignorant fans too, but they seem to be extremely unreceptive to it. Spurs have been a 50+ win team every year, there's no reason to rip down and rebuild the team when they've consistantly good every year. They don't seem to be able to understand how the Spurs keep winning. They've been claiming they need to rebuild for like 6 years. meanwhile they've won a couple titles and always 50+ wins in the reg season. I've stopped listening to ignorant fans who only watch 10 games a year tops and bandwagon team playoff games.

Non SA fans have hyped him up. SA fans have just been waiting for the douche to come play for them already, and not pull a Scola. Ten points to the Spurs for not giving up their rights to him.

San Antonio has a knack for finding great players even if they arent in the lottery....its crazy.

Yep. Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, DeJuan Blair, George Hill, Luis Scola, Tiago Splitter, James Anderson, and several others. . .all were 20th pick or later. Half of them were second rounders for christ's sake. They're the only team that seem to never draft a bust.

Only a Spurs fan would willingly waste a couple of hours of their life that they will never get back watching a Spurs game.
To most people, San Antonio is clearly a team on the down swing and I would not be surprised to see them miss the postseason. They are clearly not a top 4 seed. They will lucky to be a Top 6 seed.

Another brainwashed comment. Lemme guess, you heard some dimwit ESPN analyst say they were boring 2-3 times a few years ago because they played most often in a halfcourt set with excellent fast break defense before it became more popular after Celtics and Cavs copied that style? Spare me kid. You obviously don't know shit.
Ginobili, Parker, and Blair are three of the most exciting players in the NBA. Duncan is the best PF of all time. They play excellent team basketball. What isn't to like?
Lemme guess, they don't score 110+ a game and don't fast break every other play, so they're "boring"? Fast break scoring is boring as hell to me. Oh gee, a guy ran down the court and layed the ball in unhindered, 20 times in the same game. How exciting!!!!! . . . . -_-
Either you're a complete moron NBA fan who doesn't know shit, or you're a Mavs or Suns fan trying to trash talk them due to being knocked out of the playoffs by the Spurs during your team's best years.
Then of course, reading the post you made after that, it's obvious you're a fairweather NBA fan. rofl @ players having to "perform jaw dropping dunks" to be exciting to you. Are you 11 or something? Jesus christ.
