Not when you consider the fact what Amir Johnson, Drew Gooden, Boris Diaw, Anderson Varejao, Charlie Villanueva, Hasheem Thabeet, Eddy Curry, Marcin Gortat, and Elton Brand are being paid. Darko is a bad player but 5 million a season for anyone is not a HUGE contract.

However you spin it, if Darko plays like he has the past 7 years, that's a horrible contract.

Darko's not a bad player. He's never lived up to the 2 pick, but he's a good backup C in this league and those often get 5 mil. Think Gortat or Nazr or Diop. He's still only 25 too and fits the triangle really well. Elite shot blocker, very good passer, not aggressive or physical enough, not a low block force. Can run the high post, run the floor and defend teh C position though.
Chris Paul is too fragile to ever be considered as an elite point guard on Deron Williams level. To be considered as elite he's got to be able to bring it every night....sorry.
We'll rate him at about #4 until he can prove that the Hornets (or if they've given up on him whoever they can trade him to) can count on him.
He's been hurt twice where he missed significant time. Deron once.

Deron's averaged missing just under 5 games a year. Played seasons of 80, 80, 82, 68, and 76 games.
Paul has averaged missing just over 12 games a year. Played seasons of 78, 64, 80, 78, and 45.
I think it's obvious Deron's more durable, but I'll cut Paul a little slack, seeing how this past season was the first time either of them had missed any REALLY significant time.
Regardless, if you are trying to make the argument that Paul is just as durable as Deron, physics begs to differ.

Deron has been slightly more durable in their short careers. I was responding to this:

Hard to say when guys like Nash and Rondo are leading there teams furthur into the playoffs. Paul was still putting up bigger numbers than him when he went down as was Nash.

It's really not hard to say if you watch them play?

I watched Rondo and Nash doing it deep into the playoffs and Deron doing it in the regular season and first round. Him and you saying he's the best doesn't make it so.

Thanks for clarifing that for me. So because you're in the minority that believes Deron isn't the best pg along with Paul I should care about your opinion .
Anyway I'm done with the Jazz forum your attitude towards the team is annoying
