Default Re: Projected lineup

New projected lineup:

PG: Johnny Flynn (when healthy)
SG: Martell Webster
SF: Michael Beasley
PF: Kevin Love
C: Darko Milicic

Bench (in order of appearance within each position)

PG: Ridnour/Telfair
Wing: Brewer/Johnson/Ellington/Hayward
Post: Pekovic/Tolliver/Koufus

Darko should be able to help protect the rim against Love's defensive shortcomings, and he should be able to gobble up the boards from Darko's soft rebounding tendencies.

Martell has shown to be able to spread the floor and defend the wing, which should open things up for Flynn and Beasley's penetration, as well as Darko working the high post and block.

Decent bench with defenders and shooters, and some brawn down low with Pekovic and Tolliver.... not sure how Koufus will fit in but he's still huge and talented.

I think Webster will be a spark off the bench.
Don't no who we are going to start at the 2 either Wes or Brewer and Ellington started and played well today also.

I've heard similar stories about having Webster be a spark of the bench.... also, splitting up Brewer and Johnson would be smart seeing as how they may be a little redundant at the beginning of the season.

I'll say Brewer will get the nod due to is defense, much improved outside shot, and the fact that he's got senority.

Coach Rambis is calling his self stupid for not giving Wayne Ellington a chance at getting the SG spot after he scored 22pts against the Bucks on Sunday

Apparently that dumb coach. Ellington reminds me of Cuttino Mobley.

Yeah Ellington put up a nice game against the Bucks in the preseason, but how many of you actually think he's a legitimate starter at this point in his career over established young players like Brewer and Webster??

Maybe in the future he could be a good player in a core of a good team, but as of now I'm perfectly happy with him being the 5th wing behind Webster, Brewer, Johnson, and Beasley.

I agree, I think he is a very nice fill in player, if someone gets injured he steps up but he isn't a starter at this point of his career.

I would like to see Beasley playing some minutes at the 4 this season also, he will torch the opposing teams backup 4's.

He isn't a starter unless injuries pile up, but at least he's a guy to come off the bench. So many players, we'll see how many minutes he'll even get. Isn't this only his 2nd year? I guess you never know, he could surprise. It never hurts to have another deep threat in the triangle. If anything, Kurt was making Ellington feel good and possibly trying to sell other teams on him at the same time. Heh.
