i skimmed through all of it a couple times just to make sure and it sounds exactly as i said. troy ave has his own voice, his own flows. he does sound a bit like 50 but in the same way that keef sounds like gucci. they're inspired and did something new. i just hear lazy imitation when i listen to denzel curry. also it's annoying to me because the type of person who listens to him doesn't even know any underground memphis music and doesn't care. which is the worst.

u just described every lil b song, which is why u should actually take some time to listen to him. maybe it will make u a little more bearable. start with 6 kiss.

Lil B- Giving Up

It has a clean beat... his exasperated raps in sound and subjects serves as an identifiable personal reality for many others. I really respect this song coming from an artist I never cared for.

He's affiliated. He's been around street stuff all his life. From family to peers. He raps about gang banging, drug using, selling. Everything that happens in the street, he finds creative ways to express what he sees, experienced.

Lol that's all I needed to hear.

Try not to let fans of a certain artist sway your opinion on him.

Shit, I'm a big fan of Earl Sweatshirt, and most of his fans are middle-class, white teenagers.

it plays some part for me, but i still have tried and he isn't good.

also a lot of rap fans are middle class teenagers and earl sweatshirt himself is that, so i don't see how that makes sense. but whatever.

The first 90% of the songs you posted that I took time to listen to simply had no rhythm, there was little agreement with the lyrical structure and the production it was over. Simply not enjoyable for that reason.

A couple others I heard I acknowledged to myself that they came from the heart but were so unpolished, so amateur sounding that I couldn't overlook that as even crappy poetry and poor execution of real expression can be ineffective for those reasons.

Ugh hate to break it to u dude but the production values were quite amateur in comparison to guys with certain deals and with labels.

That doesn't mean the music can't be good but that early stuff I clicked on when Thornton was really pumpin dude and he was new had home studio quality, in production clarity and technical acoustics.
