your boy Asante got carted off today. Mike Bell too. neither are thought to be serious though, Asante says he could be back tomorrow.

i wish they'd stop saying "carted off", every time i hear that I think of the worst possible scenario.

Aite so since I havent been updatin yall here's whats been goin on:

Day 3 was our 1st day practicing full w/pads on, Mario Williams didnt
practice all of day 3. Play of the day of Day 3 was rookie TE Garrett
Graham's 1-handed catch over the middle.

Day 4: A little fight broke out between RT Eric Winston & S Bernard Pollard lol. Afterward they went inside had lunch together & cracked jokes at each other, there were no hard feelings between them. We put WR Glenn Martinez on the IR, & re-signed WR London Crawford. Trindon Holiday missed day 4 due to a hamstring injury & could miss more days. Mario Williams missed another day due to his injury.

The biggest position battle we have goin on idk if I mentioned earlier is our K position, Kris Brown against Rackers. Its really heating up and its gonna be intense all through camp and preseason, it started to heat up in day 5. Injury has killed us this camp, we're down to 10 players including Mario, Zac Diles, and Xavier Adibi.

Kube said both kickers are dead even so far, they both look good. Its gonna be a tight race through camp and preseason.

Thats basically it for day 5. I'll update day 6 when I get the update.

Interesting, Lurie says the Eagles would have traded McNabb before the '09 season and started the Kevin Kolb reign but interest in Donovan was very low coming off ACL surgery.

Quote:
SAN ANTONIO – The fight to fill Flozell Adams’ shoes at left tackle hasn’t materialized.

Doug Free is the starter. Alex Barron is the backup for both tackle positions.

It’s not that Barron has been bad. The former Rams first-round pick, who has five seasons of starting experience, has looked like a better player in practice than the one the Cowboys watched on film.

But Free was phenomenal in the Alamodome, holding his own against DeMarcus Ware. Free took every left tackle rep with the first-team offense.

“Doug Free has had a great training camp, probably the best of our offensive linemen,” Wade Phillips said.

The Cowboys planned on giving Free the starting job when they ended Adams’ 12-year tenure by releasing the long-time left tackle. They acquired Barron in a trade for Bobby Carpenter for insurance and depth.

Free gained the confidence of the coaching staff and front office during his seven-game stint as a starter at right tackle after Marc Colombo was injured last season. They felt all along that his quickness and mobility made him a better fit at left tackle, where he played in college and worked at the most in practice during his first three pro seasons.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound Free responded to the challenge of earning a starting job by bulking up about 10 pounds this offseason. The Cowboys are comfortable with him protecting Tony Romo’s blind side and excited about the ways his athletic ability can allow Jason Garrett to open up the playbook.

“Free is playing with a lot of confidence,” offensive line coach Hudson Houck said. “He’s doing everything right and working very hard. I’m very pleased with what he’s doing.”

I know none of you give a shit about that but according to some Dallas could have a stud in Doug Free...

I didn't realize he was 6'6" 320 lbs...not quite as big as Flozell the Hotel but he is very close...

he has been shutting down Ware...
