Default Pete Myers demoted?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...,5829085.story

In a surprise development, Tom Thibodeau is searching for an assistant coach after informing veteran incumbent Pete Myers he won't use him on the bench, sources said.

The Bulls' staff of Myers, Ron Adams and Andy Greer appeared to be set, and Thibodeau even commented on it during an interview with the Tribune during summer-league play.

Avery Johnson quickly swoop in to hire ex Toronto head coach Sam Mitchell to help him
Boston wasted no time to replace Thibs with ex Nets coach Lawrence Frank.
When the Lakers recruited Phil, he demanded to bring in Tex Winters, Cleamons, Hamblen.
Adelman looked so good when he had Princeton offense inventor Pete Carrill assisting him etc etc.
I just don't understand why can't the Bulls open their wallet and put Thibs in a great position to succeed by acquiring an EXPERIENCED coach who can create effective schemes, come up with great suggestions, like calling timely timeouts, game time adjustments etc?
Why not bring in other ex coaches like Stotts, Theus etc? Because other teams ALREADY hired them.
I like Mike Brown, or Mike Woodson or Eric Mussellman. These guys have been in the trenches, they had their ups and downs, All of them are smart and have experienced crisis and would know what to do and deal with difficult players, losing streaks etc. no more rookies.. for now.

There was some speculation about Scottie Pippen as a coach around the time he joined the staff.

*cough* Nick Nurse!

Pippen was a GREAT player who relied heavily on his instincts, quickness and talent. Im not sure if he can transfer most of his strengths via coaching/teaching.

Thibs is GREAT NEED of a TACTICIAN! Somebody who can create offensive and defensive schemes with MULTIPLE OPTIONS, come up with PLAN B's if plan A's are not working.
a calming influence for the whole team. He also should serve as an emissary bet. players and the head coach if there are glaring differences and arguments etc.

Terry Porter is likely landing in our laps.

BTW, research Nick Nurse. Tactician galore. Once he finally makes it to the NBA, he's going to move up to HC, and become one of the best modern day head coaches.

Nick Nurse' resume looks good. I wouldn't mind Terry Porter esp after I read that Cheeks was having a hard time getting out of OKC contract and that MGT is really looking for an ex player who can coach.
I was thinking of Jerry Krause who discovered Phil, Tex, Collins, Floyd.
If not for his arrogant statment saying its all about Organization and not players etc, he probably would be still find great minds.
