In a surprise development, Tom Thibodeau is searching for an assistant coach after informing veteran incumbent Pete Myers he won't use him on the bench, sources said.
The Bulls' staff of Myers, Ron Adams and Andy Greer appeared to be set, and Thibodeau even commented on it during an interview with the Tribune during summer-league play.
Avery Johnson quickly swoop in to hire ex Toronto head coach Sam Mitchell to help him
Boston wasted no time to replace Thibs with ex Nets coach Lawrence Frank.
When the Lakers recruited Phil, he demanded to bring in Tex Winters, Cleamons, Hamblen.
Adelman looked so good when he had Princeton offense inventor Pete Carrill assisting him etc etc.
I just don't understand why can't the Bulls open their wallet and put Thibs in a great position to succeed by acquiring an EXPERIENCED coach who can create effective schemes, come up with great suggestions, like calling timely timeouts, game time adjustments etc?
Why not bring in other ex coaches like Stotts, Theus etc? Because other teams ALREADY hired them.
I like Mike Brown, or Mike Woodson or Eric Mussellman. These guys have been in the trenches, they had their ups and downs, All of them are smart and have experienced crisis and would know what to do and deal with difficult players, losing streaks etc. no more rookies.. for now.
