Minnie's real problem wasn't overpaying KG, it was losing 5 consecutive first round picks as punishment for the illegal Joe Smith deal. That's a different conversation tho.

I am now pretty convinced that Revis will sit this year out...

kinda makes me not like him that much as a person...but maybe that is wrong of me...

they are $40 mill apart on an agreement?...THAT IS A SHIT LOAD...

they aren't gonna find a middle ground in that mess...

wow, what a f*ckin shame...

I'm pretty sure Revis was offered 11mil/yr for like 8yrs or some crazy number but he wants like $17mil... He needs to get real.

do you have a link to that?...where did you hear that?

I thought all talks on this were behind closed doors but that the jets said they are around $40 apart...

$17 mill for 8 years is crazy money...wow

17 x 8 = 136

11 x 8 = 88

that is a difference of 48...so it looks like what you are saying might be close to the truth...

BTW, the jets are about to finish redoing Mangold's contract (which he requested be redone) and make him THE HIGHEST PAID CENTER IN THE LEAGUE.

What are they thinking?

Maybe because he's their leader up front, makes calls, and is a hell of a blocker.....and he's young.

That enough reasons.

The Jets front office is hard nosed. I wouldn't be surprised if Revis doesn't play this year or gets traded. With that said, the Jets need Revis if they wanna go to SB.

It's been a weird couple of days trying to make sense of the Darrelle Revis contract negotiations with the Jets, but one source close to the situation told FanHouse on Tuesday that the star cornerback's long-awaited contract extension with the team is "almost there" and could be finalized and announced in the coming days.

Dallas Morning News columnist Tim Cowlishaw claimed via Twitter over the weekend that Revis and the Jets were closing in on a deal and that it could be announced as early as Wednesday. Back-channel sources spent much of the early part of the week denying that report, but Cowlishaw stood by his story.

FanHouse's source said Tuesday that the Cowlishaw report was accurate, that the two sides were planning to meet Tuesday night, and that the negotiations had progressed to the point where the deal could be announced in the coming days.

Yep, I believe he wanted 16 million a year for 10 years, they said it on Hard Knocks. I want the Jets to sign him and I don't understand why he would want to skip the entire season. Doesn't he love his sport? 11 million a year is still a lot of money.
