Default Best NBA Finals Runners-Up in post-ABA merger era

For me, the 4 best teams to reach the Finals and come up short:

1985 Celtics

1990 Trail Blazers

1993 Suns

1996 Sonics

Feel free to disagree

The 89 Lakers, 10 Celtics, 11 Heat, and 13 Spurs all won championships anyway with almost identical rosters.

The 04 Lakers were stacked on paper, but this team just goes to show you that chemistry in the locker room is key to winning championships.

1984 Lakers. Even Bird, himself, claimed that his Celtics should have been swept in that series. LA was clearly the better team.

Same core (Parker, Manu, TD). He makes a good point.
