NEW YORK -- Not surprisingly, Isiah Thomas and the Knicks aren't reuniting after all. The deposed team president will not take a consulting job with the Knicks, citing the NBA rules that forbid the arrangement, two people with knowledge of the situation told CBSSports.com.
Wasn't he a scout or something after being "fired" anyways? I don't think things like "being fired", "stopped by Stern/NBA from rejoining Knicks", "costing MSG over 11 million in a sexual harassment lawsuit", "trading for Steve Francis", "signing Jared Jeffries and Eddy Curry to bloated deals", etc etc have any bearing on the obvious man-crush Dolan has on Thomas. Either that or Isiah has some very serious blackmail in place.
You know, its interesting, with this whole Isiah/Dolan situation, we always focus on Dolan and how dumb/delusional/clueless he is for wanting Isiah back.
But the real question is....why the f-ck does Isiah want to go back to the Knicks?!!! He's HATED here. He's like cancer to Knick fans. The whole city hates this guy. The executives at MSG hate him. No one wants him here except one man, yet, he STILL wants to come back. What's WRONG with him?
Imagine you working at a job, where you f-cked up royally, caused legal problems, etc. etc. People detest you. They FINALLY get rid of you, with every employee, customer, etc. thrilled you're gone. And then, instead of just going to another employer where you're wanted and get a fresh start, you COME BACK to that SAME COMPANY. Think about it.
Dolan is an eccentric nutjob, but Isiah is weirder IMO.....
This isn't that great for Knick fans. Better than him being there, yeah, but it's known to have pissed Walsh off a ton and Isiah backing out of the job does nothing to restore the the tension between Walsh and Dolan this caused.
