Awhile ago, I burned some DVDs onto DVD-Rs and also did some avi files onto DVD-Rs...they worked well on my computer...but when I put the new dvds into any dvd player, it doesn't work...anyone know why?

and anyone know program to use that will avoid this. would prefer avi to dvd r.

Yeah dude, gotta convert it to a dvd-capable format.

the dvd player doesn't support playing those files (avi/divx). usually it would list all the .avi's on the dvd and you could choose which to play.

convert avi to dvd format which creates video_ts folder and audio folder on the DVD-R. you can only do 1 avi per DVD though (or 1 movie per DVD)
