Aranofsky is absolutely one of the handfull of directors for which content doesn't matter to me when deciding if I'm gonna see something.

I got True Grit as my most anticipated flick of the year though. The Coens are also in the "it doesn't matter what it is" group of autuers, and the True Grit novel is one of my favorites, and I've actually never cared for the original movie (I'm actually not fond of most of John Wayne's stuff). So this is a perfect storm of people involved, content, and the fact that it's one of the rare remakes that really deserves a remake. Not to mention the Coens are perfect for doing a remake, if only because they could even take an absolute classic and still spin it their own way and come out with something good.

i agree. the Coens get the never crappy award for their movies. hell, their movie 'burn after reading' was not well received by many critics, and i thought it was funny as hell. it is better than 85% of the movies in 2008.
