You said that one more Super Bowl and the Cowboys would be 'best' in all categories (success, tradition, etc). Dallas is a relatively young franchise when compared to the likes of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Green Bay.

The franchise came into existence in 1960. The Browns already had seven NFL Championships by then. Yet, Dallas would have better 'tradition'? How so?

The Packers have 12 championships, the 4th highest win % in the regular season and the 2nd highest in the playoffs. Dallas doesn't come close and neither does Pittsburgh, so I don't even know why people are bringing them up outside of only counting the SB era. Chicago would be #2.

so tradition just = oldest?

Dallas would have a bazillion championships too if they were around back when there was only 4 teams in the league...

I guess the only way a team could defeat Green Bay in tradition would be if they relocated or something...

Dallas has alot of tradition...ever heard of the Ice Bowl?...

I was just saying that in terms of just "the best"...(all around everything)....Dallas would have to be #1 if they win it all here...or before the Steelers win another...

San Fran is 5-0 in the Superbowl. But they were a joke in the 60's and as of late haven't been terrific.

Dallas has the highest winning percentage of the multiple Superbowl teams, and they make a lot of money and get a lot of attention.

Chicago is not far off in the WP department.

The Steelers have 6 titles which leads the league.

Then you have GB with like 90 championships. (12 is the actual number).

I like Pit in the SB era but as far as the current franchises the history advantage is clearly in GB favor.

Green Bay Packers. Unless you mean only super bowl. although i hate to say it as i am a Redskins fan I say the Dallas Cowboys

8 superbowl appearances

multiple HOFers
and were decent in every decade

Yeah, but it's not always a good thing. The Cardinals have a long tradition of being failures/losers.

The Cardinals have been around since the beginning, but they only have 2 championships. In either case, this is why some will say, 'overall it's blah blah blah, but if you only go by the SB era, then it's blah blah blah.'

Well, their long, storied history is what will likely keep them in Green Bay instead of relocating to a bigger market.

A game won by Green Bay...

You can only consider them for the SB era. They both would have ways to go to catch Chicago and Green Bay. Green Bay certainly wouldn't be at the top in the SB era.
