I have a friend who is 16 and is 5'7" tall. Is he too short to play basketball at the junior varsity level in high school? What are the average heights on your teams. Thanks.
what an odd question. really depends on the school and your friends actual bball ability. There are players that tall in College ball and pro ball all over the world. but, hes at a disadvantage unless hes a really good handler or shooter or other perimeter oriented skill set.
Last year my school's team had two 6'9" twins, and the shortest player was 5'7". his year though i am 6'6" (just about) and im the second tallest kid in the whole school so itll be different
really depends on your school.
my school's center/PF rotation was all in the 6'2-6'4'' range, one 6'5'' or so guy.
We did have a 6'4'' guy at SG though, but he was the rare stud
Yes, he is too short. Pretty sure there's a rule somewhere that stipulates you must be at least 6 feet tall to even step on a high school basketball court. He might be just tall enough for the archery team though..tell him to check that out.

which is exactly why you can only put your hand together for players like nate robinson, muggsy bogues, early boykins and spudd webb and even iverson to an extent. Their talent must of shone far and wide.
