Default The Second Tier Small Forwards.

Chris Mullin, Jamaal Wilkes, Marques Johnson, Benard King, Mark Aguirre, Adrian Dantley, or Rolando Blackman; who were the best in their prime?

I'd take Chris Mullin over King. Mullin was more dynamic. King is to Mullin is like what Melo is to Bird.

King And Dantley jump out. Great scorers. I'd give BK a slight edge because at his peak he was elite, 1st tier, Dantley was either a bad teams #1 or a good team's #2.

Mullin is close but I disagree with whoever said he was more dynamic than King. Mullin was a great shooter and could score very efficiently off basic dribble pull up moves. However he didn't impact the game significantly in any other facet and doesn't have the playoff resume of King.

Wilkes is probably third tier too. He was a 3rd or 4th for the Lakers in the early 80's. His finest moment is of course winning the title in 1975, but remember he was just a rookie and that was pre-merger.

Aguirre is an interesting one. He was a premier scorer in Dallas and when the Pistons traded Dantley for him in 1989 it was to move Dennis Rodman into Dantleys starting spot and put Aguirre (a 20+ scorer in Dallas) on the Bench. To me he's a notch below King and Dantley.

Marques Johnson was the most versitile of the bunch but he burned out quickly. I'd still have him above Wilkesand Aguirre, in the middle of that group.

Rolondo Blackman was a combo guard.

What happened to Alex English? George McGinnis? Or even George Yardley or Paul Arizin?

King has done nothing in the playoffs. Mullins has gone to the finals once and has seen the playoff more that twice as much as King.

Also Mullin was a better passer, averaged more steals and blocks, and just as many boards. King is more one dimensional as a volume scorer. Even if you took away the one season where he scored 32 ppg (that in which he only played 55 games) their averages were virtually the same.
