Iowa Player On Motorcycle Hit By Truck (VIDEO) Will Start Saturday
- can't f*ck with that guy.
Now to my homer thread:
blindly biased? yes.
well informed on the competition? no.
favorable schedule? yes.
Penn State and Ohio State @ home is a big deal, there's a few other challenges along the way but let's call it like it is, those are the money games.
Returning 14 starters including 8 from our bone crushing defense.
The defense only took two major hits with linebacker Pat Angerer, and corner Amari Spievey, they should be right on par with where we were last year and that alone is going to win us a lot of games. There's 7 starting seniors and 2 starting juniors -- this is primed to be one of those special units. We'll be one of the top defenses in the country and you can take that to the bank.
The offense took a few big blows to the offensive line but actually improved at the skill positions which were decimated by injury last year. QB Ricky Stanzi can be really frustrating at times but is a composed leader and proven winner. Hopefully he's poised for a big senior season. If Adam Robinson stays healthy he could put up huge numbers. My favorite player on the team, Marvin McNutt and his fellow wide out Derrell Johnson-Koulianos are going to have big years. Stanzi doesn't have an incredible/accurate arm for the long ball so hopefully they'll both be utilized in more of a checkdown fashion. Our tight ends are always strong and used often, and senior Allen Reisner should be no different.
Kirk Ferentz is one of the best coaches in the country and has the boys poised for a big season. I think we have a legitimate shot at 12-0 and a shot at the title game. I would be outright shocked if we lost more than 1.
