Current man o man...Uhm maybe Chauncey actually. he got a whole team to go from offense offense offense to playing pretty solid defense.

All time Jordan/Russell

The team clearly made defense a priority before chauncey was even traded for.

I agree that it was more of a priority. But I don't think it was anywhere near as much of one as Chauncey made it. I think Melo started playing defense more before that, just because of the Olympics. But I think once he got there everyone else started playing it too.

Just my opinion... and im sure everybody have their own opinion on this, there is no way to measure who the best leader is/was, but there is many who were the best leaders and who are the best leaders today...

Now? Besides the big name stars, DFish defintely has to be up there. The guy commands respect when he speaks. The New Orleans Saints had him speak to the team prior to their first regular season game haha.

As for all time...there are plenty of candidates: Russell, Magic, Isiah, etc.

Duncan and Kobe. While they may not best vocal leaders, their play and work ethic has them leading by example.

All time? Russell/Jordan... To me the two best all around floor generals of all time.

not even close for who the best current leader is. Kobe's been giving teammates shooting drills, is the most vocal guy during timeouts (almost like a coach at times), sets an example with his work ethic, is demanding and has mentally made guys like Gasol stronger/hungrier over the last couple of seasons, easily the best leader in NBA right now.
