The NBA's Chris Webber? Seriously. Guess if you can't make it as a rapper, next best thing is producing. And I saw Scott Storch on the Make It Rain fat joe video. Guy looks like Macauly Caulkin went nutso with the mousse.

Def Jam could make some noise with these releases.

Nas' last few albums have been letdowns production wise. There are few a really good songs, and the rest are so-so, mainly due to the production. This looks promising, but I don't have high expectations. I'll be pleasantly surprised if every song is good.

"Black Republican" is the beat of the year. he has much better production right now. he's got Def Jam's producers on board this time (Kanye mainly). he's also got a Dre beat and a couple Storch beats. will.i.am is also very good (as long as he isn't rapping verses). this should be the best produced album, overall, of his career.

thing about Nas is that his music is lyrical and focuses on the emcee, not the beat. the beats are a background for his music, not the focus, so not having especially dope beats is a good thing. however the beat can't be so boring as to bring the song down, which a lot of his do.

did they change the name of Dont Body Yourself or Death Anniversary or My Will? these are some of the best songs he's ever made and I don't see all 3 on the album which is a SHAME.

Obie Trice needs to don his cape and kick some ass.

Kind of funny that the track hip hop is dead has someone from black eyed peas on it.

Yeah, I shook my head when I saw that. I can't stand what the BEP's have become. Apparently his production on the Game album (one track I believe) which I haven't heard yet is far and away from the hip-pop crap he normally produces for his group, and is good.

I can't imagine this topping "Illmatic". Still the Holy grail among Nasir Jones albums. I will agree it "should" be his best since production wise.

It won't be anywhere near Illmatic or It Was Written, but hopefully better than the last few.
