I like his intentions, but the way he went about it was stupid.
If you want Nick to see more time, go to Flip and tell him that, its preseason, Flip has always been a "players" coach. Why fake like you are hurt?
And then if you do fake an injury, don't come in the next day and say you did like its a big joke. keep your mouth shut and you would have kept some money in your pocket.
Sorry, but this is Arenas being Arenas. I'm not making excuses for him, but I am saying that the Wizards organisation should have seen this coming. This is exactly the type of stuff Arenas would do. The Wizards may not have know what they were bringing in when they signed him the first time, but they most definitely knew who Gilbert Arenas was when they gave him that huge extension. When have people not known Arenas to do childish things?
It's a meaningless preseason game and they are fining Arenas for shit they should have known he would do. I guess the relationship soured a bit after that injury.
What he did was moronic, can't have a guy that makes 20mil sit out because he wants to (It doesn't matter he did it to get a teammate some burn), and then blame it on a knee that they know is jacked up. That probably scared the staff to death considering he barely played in 2 years.
If Washington tried to trade him and a team balked because of this made up story then yea, Washington would be pretty upset.
I can agree with that. However, I'm not sure how likely it is a team brings this up during a potential trade. He should have said he was sick or something. Having knee issues really isn't anything to mess with when you haven't been healthy in 2 years and your still owed $80M. Very poor judgement on coming out and saying he faked it.
why? after he told the media he faked an injury, he forced their hand. no way they can not fine him now. Frankly, they should suspend him as well. **** that shit
lol@this guy getting mad. Suspend him for faking an injury during a preaseason game? Get real.

Nothing bad about trying to boost a rook's confidence. I can see why people are upset with the decisions he continues to make, but suspending the guy? A little over the top...

Im not mad, I just dont like people who cant behave professionally despite all the opportunities and $ they have been given. Dude must be mentally challenged to think this was ok, let alone talk to the media about it. A 1 game suspension (it is still preseason) sends the message that misrepresenting yourself to the organization will not be tolerated.
In any other line of work, faking an injury would be cause for termination.

hes not a rook. its at least his 3rd year in the league.
