The site will soon publish 400,000 secret documents that are expected to give a never-before-seen, uncensored view of the Iraq War. A source close to WikiLeaks said the material covers the period from 2004 through 2009 -- nearly the entirety of the conflict, which began in 2003. On August 31, President Obama declared the combat mission in Iraq over.
The number of documents in this anticipated leak could dwarf the Afghan War Diary which WikiLeaks published in July. The massive, searchable database containing more than 70,000 classified documents about the Afghanistan War is regarded as the biggest intelligence leak in U.S. history and garnered international headlines.
The ground-level view of the war was a much bleaker portrait than the official one from Washington.
This impending leak could be just as revealing.
The Pentagon, which was surprised and furious about the Afghan document leak, says it's prepared this time. It's assembled a team of 120 experts who are poised to immediately begin reading any documents on the WikiLeaks site, said spokesman Col. Dave Lapan.
We're preparing for all eventualities.
"We don't know how these documents might be released, when these documents might be released, in what number they might be released. So we're sort of preparing for all eventualities," he said.
looking forward to seeing all of the government guilt trips about endangering soldiers lives and patriotic idiots justifying their willful ignorance of what our government does....
It doesn't matter what those documents say. The mass media will simply ignore it and the public are too apathetic to even care, even if they did know. Makes no difference.
The media and populace will ignore this just like they ignored Climategate, where documents of scientists from the leading global warming research institute in europe admitted to faking data to make it look as if temperatures were rising when the data said different
Check the current front page of the New York Times. It is being anything but ignored. This is going to be an absolutely mammoth story.
Also, the other example that you pointed out was hardly ignored. It was all over the place, especially with the right wing media. They even discussed it in detail on shows like Real Time with Bill Maher.

damn NY Times is on top of this. **** CNN, they're hyping Modern Family on Larry King i might have to switch my daily news site.
i swear we need to **** Iran up in some way and i can't believe we're playing this behind the curtains support game with Iran when we should be threatening the shit out of their government if not pinpoint bombings each time we catch them doing anything in Iraq.
The documents, however, do provide a vivid account of the Karbala attack as it unfolded.
At 7:10 p.m., several sport utility vehicles of the type typically used by the American-led coalition blocked the entrance to the headquarters compound. Twenty minutes later, an “unknown number of personnel, wearing American uniforms and carrying American weapons attacked the PJCC,” the report said.
The attackers managed to kidnap four American soldiers, dragging them into an S.U.V., which was pursued by police officers from an Iraqi SWAT unit. Calculating that they were trapped, the militants shot the handcuffed hostages and fled. Three of the American soldiers who had been abducted died at the scene. The fourth later died of his wounds, the report said, and a fifth American soldier was killed in the initial attack on the compound.
Summing up the episode, the American commander of a police training team noted in the report that that the adversary appeared to be particularly well trained. “PTT leader on ground stated insurgents were professionals and appeared to have a well planned operation,” the report said.

1- Name of this research institute pls.
Because the one that was involved in this case was the Climatic Research Unit in the University of East Anglia, which is/was never leading in anything.
2- They admitted nothing. Emails were stolen, 3 scientists wrote stuff, which other scientists (from the really major climate research institutes in the world) already destroyed. 3 Independent UK investigations (and not from liberals) didn't find anything unusual from normal scientific research practices (apart from it being about climate change and that Fox News talked about it so that people like you became climate experts and began to give lectures about scientific research).
