"I'm going to sit down and have a serious conversation with my coach tomorrow and see if I can actually play by NFL rules and still be effective," Harrison told guest host Judy McDonald. "If not, I may have to give up playing football."
Really? You aren't sure if you can still be effective without putting everything you have into leading with your head against a defensiveless receiver who has already dropped a football coming across the middle?
Wow... This guy is an embarrassment. The league would be better off without him.
Re: Harrison excused from practice while contemplating retirement.
He's an NFL Linebacker. Most of them are batshit, crazy weirdos. Two people got stuck messing with Ray Lewis. They're ****ing dead. Lawrence Taylor once beat the shit out of drug dealers somewhere in East New York during a Crack Transaction gone failed jewlery jacking. Greg Lloyd put a gun in his 12-year old son's mouth for his grades in school. Romanowski is an obvious roid head, psychopath, dirty, et al. So many more examples out there.. Harrison isn't a big deal.

I don't remember that one.
People expect linebackers on the professional level to be a little out there and probably violent in RL. However, they also expect them to be tough and not whine like little b!tches when something doesn't go their way. That is the issue, here. Harrison is acting like a total baby, which isn't in-line with his tough-guy persona.

Harrison's reasoning is about as ridiculous as citing 4 examples out of thousands of guys and categorizing "most" of them as "batshit, crazy weirdos".
Re: Harrison excused from practice while contemplating retirement.
Oh, there's no way he's retiring. Really, he signed a contract worth 51 mil, and he'd have to repay millions in signing bonus money if he walked out on the deal. Remember when Ricky Williams "retired" years ago? It'd be the same story with a different idiot. His agent is probably hammering that point home as I type this.
I actually respect his passion for the game, but I had no idea he was this clueless.

There's a small chance you're right, but missing practice would be going way too far for the sake of a joke. Because what he's doing, even if he should decide to return, is hurting his team by hurting their ability to prepare.
Re: Harrison excused from practice while contemplating retirement.
Whats his name crowder sounds even more stupid than Harrison, saying he is gonna keep using his helmet to hit guys.. this nutball claims he gets knocked out all the time and its part of the game no big deal..
Am I missing something here? why all the uproar from defensive guys about their dirty undisciplined tackling?
clean up your poor technique up or get fined and suspended...
these clowns are acting like they are the victims here
Re: Harrison excused from practice while contemplating retirement.
These NFL guys are idiots, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and not pigeon-hole them as these dumb jocks but I see that may be an exercise in futlity. The NFL is not trying ban hitting, just dirty ass hits. If these dudes actually knew how to make a fundamentally sound tackle there wouldn't be such an uproar over this.
Re: Harrison excused from practice while contemplating retirement.
To be fair, when you're running full speed and the guy you want to bring down is running full speed it's not easy to make sure the approved body parts collide all the time. When I played in HS I honestly never wanted to KO or injure anyone, but there were a few times that guys got hit with my helmet first anyway...of course, I was never ordered not to lead with my helmet, but I'm just saying that it's not so simple. Make a hundred tackles in a season and some of them might be considered "dirty." The NFL should give guys some leeway. If the same player is is delivering illegal hits and concussions every week then go after him but we are going to see fines and suspensions levied on guys that were just trying to make an honest play and got caught in an unlucky position.
