A lot of religious people see the bible/jesus as allegorical. faith is a way of life based on a set of principles/teachings.

It's due to the Pauline Christians appropriating Pagan conventions and deities and synchronizing them with a relatively obscure cult centered around an executed Jewish messianic claimant. It was all a marketing scheme to attract 'gentiles' to a new movement. Considering what the end result ended up being, I'd say it is the most successful marketing campaign the world has ever seen (or maybe second to Apple )

having said that, pretty interesting premise and shouldn't be hard to fact-check for neutral religious scholars.

so in less than ten years we seem to have gone from jesus' remains being found in his family tomb to jesus never existing. whoa, man!

even if that's true, defensible and we're sure it's talking about the right guy, it's still a very skimpy list of evidence all things considered... is the point i took from the article, anyway.

as in, if this guy was such a notable trouble-maker of his time, why didn't the big list of local historians even mention him?

What 'Romans' wrote about him?

There's no contemporaneous mention of Jesus anywhere Historically and all of the later mentions that in appear in Josephus' work and a few other sources are viewed by Historians (sectarian and non) as 'interpolations' aka frauds.

It could be if it gives good logic and evidence.
