Default Rodney Stuckey does not receive extension

The Detroit Pistons' Rodney Stuckey will be a restricted free agent next summer. That fact has been pretty obvious for some time, but it became official at midnight Monday, when the deadline passed for players drafted in 2007 to reach agreements on contract extensions. Michigan Live

Default Re: Rodney Stuckey does not receive extension

You beat me to another post.... I really didn't think Stuckey would get an extension. Possibly if the franchise was already sold they might have thought about locking him up for the long term. I really think this is a year he needs to prove himself though. This is the year he shows he's an average PG or he can be a great one. Without knowing that there is no real way to know how much to pay him. Not to mention the fact that the CBA is going to be up and more than likely they will be able to save some money by signing him as a restricted FA. There's a few teams that took that approach. I think it's a smarter move than what Memphis did with Conley Jr.
