I never followed Tyson that closely till his championship year with Dallas, but this man seems to be getting better and better with age. A smart big man with amazing court presence. I mean is there anyone better at batting the ball back out to his teammates on a missed shot. It seems like he does this at least 5 or 6 times a game. Simply amazing.
Tyson is so underrated. He's a true center in my opinion. He guards that paint harder than anyone in the league. People just ignore him because the team doesn't run the offense thru him. However, anyone who's watched him play understands how big of an impact he has on the floor.
He's also a great teammate according to everyone. Without Chandler as a defensive presence, Dallas doesn't win that championship
The rule and game changes have probably turned Chandler into the most useful center on a championship contender today, because he´s the best pick and roll defender in the league. If he has a PG like Kidd (or even Felton) that can throw him some lob passes on offense, he´s not a liability there either and has to be respected. Cuban ****ed it up big time. Nobody can feel worse than Cuban watching Kidd and Chandler in New York. They could have kept that whole team together and even added Mayo as the new SG starter in place of Stevenson. I think they would have beaten Miami again last year, not sure whether they would have gotten past San Antonio or the Thunder though.
Elite defender and elite finisher when hes set up, brings more energy than just about any other centre and plays hard every game. Hes a guy any team would love to have.
chandler has had a pretty strange career. from draft dissapointment in chicago, potential fulfilles in new orleans, injuries, some more lean years in charlotte. then hes signed as a backup center for dallas (iirc), anchors a championshup defense, and now is a top center in the league, and getting paid well.
