Default Kings players argue with each other

Saturday night, the Kings wasted a seven-point lead entering the fourth quarter with possibly their worst quarter so far this season, resulting in a 96-85 loss to the Chicago Bulls at Arco Arena. In the fourth, the Kings were outscored 27-9, committed eight turnovers and made only 3 of 21 shots. As the lead slipped away, players began yelling at each other after mistakes. Perhaps 10 losses in their last 11 games are wearing on the Kings (4-11). "Can't do it that way," Kings guard Luther Head said. "You've got to pull people to the side and talk to them like a man, and they've got to be able to listen. They can't come back with a question." Sacramento Bee

Paul Westphal called the second half "something out of a horror book." He said the Kings ran the same plays but didn't execute. The ball didn't move, players didn't pass out of double teams, and the turnovers piled up. Westphal said sitting players who make mistakes is hard because several players make them. "It's tough because we showed what we can do, but we also showed how far we have to go," Westphal said. Sacramento Bee
