Default Greg Oden Restricted Free Agent

What do you do with a guy like that?

Is there any team that'll spend money on him?

Should the Blazers even bother?

His case has to be the strangest free agency case of all time.

Put him in Phoenix so the mastermind squad of health specialists that kept Shaq from falling apart can work with him.

I would like to see him come to the Pacers (hometown team) for a minimum deal and try again.

It seems extremely unlikely that he'll ever stay healthy for any significant amount of time at this point though, so I can't imagine any team giving him any more than a couple million.

Probably, and I'd have to assume that Portland would match that. At least I'd give him MLE for a few years if I ran Miami.

He is a big. Surely someone will give him a try, If Blazers decide to forgo their loses and move on. More than likely Blazers will keep him.

I don't think anyone will pay him the full MLE, if there even is one next year. There's a really high chance his career is over, unfortunately.

I think Portland even though they have not commited , I'd say they have to , because otherwise it will look to their fans as if the franchise doesn't know how to draft.
Portland is in a precarious position , but I think some how Oden stays in Portland for another year ....
Looking into my hour glass : I can see Oden having a press conference and thanking the Blazers in the 2012 summer and moving on.

That would be the case if Greg Oden was a swingman. However the position he plays(Center) will keep him in high demand until he retires.

Oden is 7'0, is a great rebounder, is a good shotblocker, scores efficiently around the basket, and isn't going to be crying about his minutes. The fact he may only play 50 games at the most isnt going to scare off most teams. This is the same league where Darko has gotten $21 Million, and $20 Million dollar contracts for being 7'0 and he sucks.

I'd throw him a cheap ass offer, not even full MLE. Of course, all intel out of Portland has been they intend to match and keep him but that was before this latest announcement. Basically, he will have only played in 25% of the games he was eligible for coming into the summer.

Basically, I'm over him as a pipe dream and looking at Hasheem Thabeet and Marc Gasol.

50 games? More like 20 since it's 75% of the time he has been unable to play due to injury
