What do you guys think about Steve Aoki, MSTKRFT and all these DJs getting notoriety as "musicians"? I'm 21 years old and a lot of people a year or two younger than me flock to the bars every time these guys come around but I just don't understand it. Anybody can push a bunch of buttons and use a program on a Mac to mix songs together.

I'm good at video games and pushing buttons.. should I buy a deck and try to mix?

MSTKRFT is cool, I mainly like em cause of DFA 1979. I think seeeing artists live is a great way to support them in an age where torrents and downloading music is taking money away from these people creating art.

I love that whole collection of DFA1979 remixes. ****s my shit UP!

But I'm really not much for rap or dance music or anything like that. I prefer my music more mellow.

Right now artists I'm listening to are Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine, The Tallest Man on Earth, Sigur Ros, Arcade Fire, Beirut, Hey Rosetta! and Sufjan Stevens.

Starting to really get into the Raconteurs lately as well.

No I honestly don't care about the topic that much I'm just trying to get people to understand that the kid has value and still has potential to improve. Regardless this is the music thread and Bargnani should not have ventured his way into here!!

Saw Jack's band The Dead Weather in July pretty awesome show. I like most of his work.

Anyone check out Kanye's new album?

I have the Dead Weather CD, I like it, but I don't love it. A few songs are starting to grow on me though. I'm usually quite picky with my music so this
time next month I might absolutely love it
