He's a flashy pick because he's a Heisman trophy winner at a skill position. "Flashy" isn't really referring to style. They need to make a Maurkice Pouncey sort of pick, a guy picked late first round who the casual fan doesn't know but instantly became one of the top players at his position. A player of his caliber may be asking much but the game has always and always will be won at the line, so I would start there if I were the Boys. Get a big boy next to Gurode to move guys around for Garett's draw plays (if he's still around).

Pouncey is already a lock to be a team captain next season. He's been the one bright spot on a patchwork offensive line for us all season. Couldn't be happier with that selection and Jason Worilds is already making plays too.

Dallas really does need to focus on the core of their team. The Steelers always draft linemen and LBs in the early rounds, which may seem redundant and def isn't flashy, but it is what helps us have such a solid foundation and year to year consistency.

Also, its not like Ingram is a clear cut #1 back in the draft class either.

What's the point if the ball is going to be thrown 60 times a game?

All you Cowboy fan used to talk about was how you had 3 great RBs, but now you want to draft yet another RB?

they were 3 great RBs at one point...that isn't the case any more

actually they probalby aren't nearly as bad as they look, that line doesn't give them much to work with at all...a lot of the time they just get stuffed right away...

(which is we throw so much)

they get stuffed b/c their run calls are predictable and tend to develop slowly. What percentage are draws? Over half? Garrett seems to have Andy Reid's disease where he only runs when its absolutely necessary and/or obvious. Then when it gets stopped just once he completely abandons it. For some reason, he doesn't understand that you need to keep running the ball even when it doesn't get you many yards if only to keep the defense honest.

on top of that, Garrett likes to do things like run the power back Barber in a sweep while sending the speedy Jones up the middle. Choice seems to have been completely forgotten.

biggest problem I see with the Cows RBs is that they, aside from Barber, pick up blitzes very poorly. The whole reason Romo is even hurt was a failed blitz pickup. (forget who, though I know it wasn't Barber)

anyway, what they need to do is rebuild the offensive line. Far too many drives are killed b/c of penalties and mistakes from that unit. Hell, they lost the first game of the year off a holding flag that took away a TD by Roy as time expired.

That would be a horrendous pick imo. There is much more wrong with that team and there are some beasts on D in this year's draft I think the value would just be better if they got another position.

I'm also not sure Mark Ingram is quite at that level yet AND is he even declaring after this year?

agree with all this...

the "delay" running scheme was GREAT......LAST YEAR, when we had a o-line that could handle it...

this year that o-line is not capable of running a constant delay scheme...it is broken...they delay the rush and the someone is there to smack the RB the vey second he gets the ball in his hands...

infact I suppose we should be greatful that there haven't been more fumbles because of that...

yeah, until we have a better line, that delay running needs to STOP...and yes, run Felix around the edge and Brber up the middle Garrett...F*CK, so obvious...lol

41 carries between Tashard Choice and Felix Jones for 183 yards against the Colts.

alright... if we can run the ball more like this, then I won't want to draft Mark Ingram.

But obviously Marion Barber is now off the team... and is clearly a reason why we sucked at the start of the year.

The bold is all you need to know. A big rushing day against the Colts doesn't mean any problems have been fixed.

Anyway, Indiana hired Oklahoma's OC Kevin Wilson to be the new head coach. What do you think about that?
