With Amare probably out against Boston on Wednesday,do you think D'Antoni will also rest Billups and Melo ?

The last thing we need is another injury and one day more to rest would certainly be good for our stars.

I posted this in another thread.

I wouldn't even suit up my normal rotation.

Stat, Melo, Billups, Fields, Shawne, Toney, Turiaf would all be in suits.

The game against means absolutely nothing.

Doc Rivers is resting his guys now.

He knows we will run them in the ground.

Nah, I would play to win. Keep the momentum going. We haven't beaten the Celtics all year. I don't want to go into the playoffs with that "we didn't beat them once" thing on our shoulder. Amar'e should obviously sit since he is injured, but I would play the other guys.

And imagine we lose against 2nd Celtics unit

Our confidence would be below zero.

Even if we win I don't see how can that give us confidence.
We are good enough to beat their 2nd unit,we should celebrate ?

It's a lose-lose situation.
We can only lose confidence and one of our guys can get injured.

Just rest the guys and give our subs a shot to prove themselves against their subs.

You're damned if you do, & you're damned if you don't.

Basically there's positives and negatives for both scenarios, but in this instance I want the win just because we haven't beaten them all year, and I don't want them to have that little mental edge. If had gotten 1 win against them in the previous 3 games, I would be in total favor of rest.

Still I don't see any positives in case we beat them.

I don't think winning against their 2nd unit would make us more confident.
But a close win or even a loss against them would even decrease our confidence.

All 3 star players have been dealing with injuries lately (Billups thigh,Amare ankle,Melo wrist) so there is no way I would risk an injury.
Remember,1 minute is enough for someone to get injured.

I can't agree.

It isn't like we are playing their starters.

Their guys will not be playing at all.

The game means nothing, rest the guys, see them on Sunday.

If anything you want your BENCH to get confidence.

Alright Amar'e, I respect you as the captain, but don't get hurt out there tonite.

You don't have anything to prove in this game.

Amar’e Stoudemire is all good.

Stoudemire said his sprained ankle is “100 percent’’ and no longer an issue as the Knicks prepared Friday for Game 1 Sunday in Boston.

Stoudemire missed three games with a left-ankle sprain before playing 20 minutes in the regular-season finale in Boston Wednesday. Stoudemire looked a little rusty in not getting lift on a blown, uncontested dunk. He shot just 6 of 15.

“The ankle is 100 percent - no worries,’ Stoudemire said.

Asked if his tank was full, Stoudemire said, “Overload.’’

Stoudemire had a rough March when his body wore down from the 18 games.

“March was tough,’’ Stoudemire said. “There were a lot of emotions going through that month with the (Carmelo Anthony) trade, figuring things out on both sides of the court. But I feel great.’’

Stoudemire added, “When the postseason comes around, I tend to turn up my game a notch. It brings that extra motivation and extra focus out of me. I can’t wait.’’

Mike D’Antoni didn’t sound worried about Stoudemire’s status.

“I think he’s 100 percent other than being a little rusty from not playing,’’ D’Antoni said. “He got work in against Boston and good practice time. ‘

Good news.
We need him at 100% if we want to advance.
