Amare Stoudemire is a fkn monster.

What a great free agent to sign. The guy is a leader who doesn't mind sharing the floor with Melo. He's laid back and relaxed at all times on the court it seems. He throws up some bullshit from time to time, and it looks like any man out there could just throw the ball off the glass and hope for it to go in. The difference is STAT makes it every damn time it seems like.

I've really appreciated STAT's game even more so that Melo is here now. I'm not sure why, maybe because it's gotten easier on him, but regardless, the guy is a beast.

I'm not taking anything away from Melo either. That guy is unbelievable too. Last night watching them play together over the first 3 quarters was great. It's gonna be an awesome next few years for the Knicks

As hyped as I am about Amare and Melo's play on the court,I'm as excited about their personalities off the court.I think the past year or so kinda showed LeBrick's true colors. He seemed like an almost perfect guy.No off the court problems.Charitable.Cordial.Seemed loyal to Ohio. Then you start to realize how lame he is and how scripted his answers to media questions are. He's a real phony person and a douche when you look closely.

While Melo had off the court drama in his past, both him and Amare seem like dudes you'd want to hang out with even if they weren't famous.LeBron seems like someone I could see myself saying stfu to lol

Seriously dude?

When asked about Indy scoring at will in the paint........

"I didn't want to play aggressive, because I didn't wanna pick up another foul."

"That didn't work so well, because I picked up the fouls anyway."

Is someone on the bench capable of letting Amar'e know, that you can be aggressive AND not foul?

BTW, two of Amar'e fouls were OFFENSIVE.

I'm wondering how would he explain that?

Yea I've said time and time again,he's too big, athletic and powerful to be as bad as he is defensively. There shouldn't be a game where a PF gets more than 25 points.Everyone complained at first about Melo's D but it's Amare I'm worried about.Melo takes the initiative to guard the oppositions best player and gets up for big games. Amare almost never does.I never see him guarding the oppositions best big man.I love having him here but if you're going to be a leader, you gotta have your troops know you're ready to go into a war fighting.

I agree with you guys.

I think it's a shame that 6'10 super-athletic guy isn't able to play any kind of defense.
He just sucks defensively.
Guy has been averaging 6.7 rebounds per game since the Melo trade.

He averaged 10.9 rebounds per game during our 8 game winning streak.

He needs to learn how to defend and box out,he needs to be aggressive.
Because we are not getting anywhere with that kind of effort on defense.

I noticed that he's stopped rebounding since Melo's arrival, we need that way more than points. And he hasn't ever shown interest in the other side of the court, don't expect it to turn around here. Especially under Mike D'Antoni.

I just can't wait for the off-season.

But I have some feeling this will continue to happen, even next season.

As long as we don't get a defensive minded head coach or a defensive assistant coach (like the role Thibs played for the C's) this won't change.

What we need to do to bring Jeff Van Gundy ?

He can have my house next to sea if he comes to coach Knicks

We need to get better at team defense. Coach Mike D'Antoni is new to preaching to his team about defense. This past games looks like it was effort on the defense. We have done it a few times since the trade so I hope it happens again. Jeff Van Gundy would be great next year if we cant make it past the first round. But I would give D'Antoni a shot.

Problem is Amare's had Mike D'Antoni or his understudy Gentry for most of his career. The year they had Terry Porter, who actually stresses defense,he got fired because change didn't happen overnight. If we get a new, defensive minded coach,it needs to happen this summer. That way, when we go out chasin Paul or DWill or even Dwight,we'll only have one player tryna adjust instead of a whole team.
