uhh...correct me if im wrong..but the question was regarding our pg & c positions?
longley is a piece of crap, just look at how he played in phoenix
Hey, 420 is on to something. We don't NEED a 1 or 5; all we gotta do is find another Mike and Pip, and then sign a Horace Grant type and a lanky do-it-all euro fella, annnd maybe a Steve Kerr or Craig Hodges and one of the best rebounders of all time? OOOOH, and a coach with a cool nickname like zen-master.
Center? PFF! Who needs a center?!
We'll just re-make the bulls. Brilliant!
Sure, you can win without a great center or point, but only if you have other great players to supplant their numbers/skill set. Ultimately, the Raptors are pretty weak everywhere, the 4 spot excepted. So errybody is right: The raps are missing several somethings at several positions. BC will need to accumulate much more than a decent center and point guard, and the process will take a few years.
But we've got a good start; it should be fun to watch.
yes you original statement was about the pg n c situation, then you brought in the example of the bulls in the 90's. bad example really. they have two of the finest players in nba history, which is why their lack of centers n pointguards were hidden. if you can find the next jordan and a player who'll ply a second role but is eqaully great, then ya..WHO CARES ABOUT A CENTER AND A PG!
i'm not saying we don't need C or PG.
just saying there have been examples of teams that can be successful without being very strong in those positions. i'm sure there are other teams aside from the bulls that played well without a C or PG.
"langley > any center we currently have! "
not anymore! rasho!!!!
i can see him as a longley 2nd coming haha
the bulls of the 90's never had a good PG or C.
They did just fine
well im sure if we had a michael jordan and a scottie pippen we coulda started alvin williams on cruches.Us on the other hand we do need someone running the offense and gettin the right guys the ball ..with the bulls it was no brainer
