They also said Kidd is better than Westbrook, Blake isnt top 50 but Hedo is, and would anyone right now take Joe Johnson over Rose, or Antawn Jamison and his 11ppg on 40% shooting over Gerald Wallace and John Wall? Chris Paul is the 13th best player in the league and not a top 2 point?
He still played 45 games, it's not like he was injured all season. I see what you mean, but if you are going to put Kobe at number one after another offseason surgery on his knee, why penalize Paul?
i wouldn't of lowered him that much, but i think people saw what collison was able to step in and do, plus we don't know when this vote was cast in relation to the CP3 trade stuff. Kobe prob just got #1 cause he was coming off another title. Not sure why that magazine waited til now to release the results, they're looking real dumb with CP3, Westbrook, and a ton of other rankings.
Not to mention jamison voting in this and landing at #47
Rick Barry says this was voted on before the season started. He wasn't sure why the hell John Wall landed at 50 before playing a single game.
Kidd wasnt better than Westbrook last season, Hedo sure as hell wasnt top 50 last season, and on and on. Really...its pretty clear these votes are done off where a player has been for a period of time. They get established as great and stay high on the lists off reputation.
Hell of a lot of players dont belong near where they are.
A gang of people can get together to create a crazy list pretty easily.
You would probably get about the same list asking a bunch of random people at the all star game.
"Kobe’s experience still edges LeBron’s raw talent"
In that criteria then i agree Kobe should be at top, Kobe has more respect due to legacy aswell. But i disagree with the rankings, if its based rather on experience-accomplishments and so on then Shaq / Duncan should be ahead of Lebron and heck even over Kobe.
