Just disregard that comment by this guy, because it's completely bullshit. A Call of Duty MULTIPLAYER too easy? Wtf? Are you playing a 9 year old one on one or friends who are new to the COD series every day? Black Ops is highly competitive online. If any of the COD multiplayers can be classified as easy, it's MW2 with all of it's cheap perks/death streaks and overpowered weapons.
As for what game to buy as your first, I say Red Dead Redemption. The single player in that game is amazing and has many different things you can do in game. Graphically, the game will blow you away. The story will keep you wondering what happens next. As mentioned, there's even a multiplayer.
I just think Red Dead is the more well rounded game, so that'd be an excellent first game.

Get Uncharted 2, its PS3 exclusive, and by far the best single player game out there. Most polished, generation defining game out there; I have never put so many hours in any story-mode single player then I did/still do for U2.
You have to experience it for yourself, it's the first game you must get, if it's your type of game of course. RDR triumphs Black Ops; it's a slightly worst version of Modern Warfare man. The online mode might arguably be better; but if you don't play online, then definitely get RDR. It is a much better game in every way, Black Ops is a replicate of many first-person shooters out there for PS3. Killzone 2, MW 1 & 2, Battlefield 2, Battlefield: Vietnam are all better games to get, IMO.
I guess it depends on your preference as a gamer; to me BO is a game that I've played before many times however RDR is really one of a kind. Although it does not compare to Uncharted 2.
I haven't played Black Ops, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that style of game has been geared towards multiplayer game as of late.
My initial reaction would be that if you're playing it for story and single-player, I'd go Read Dead. If your'e looking for internet-ready multiplayer action then go Black Ops.
Also, the two games are very different in terms of setup and style. Red Dead is obviously and open-world sandbox-style game, while Black Ops is a first person shooter readily available with multiplayer options.
